It is a Colt Cadet, made for a few years in the 1990's. They were sued because someone else who had copy writed the name "Cadet" for firearms. They made then another year or so and then dropped them. Some people liked them and some didn't so they went the way of the S&W 22's of the same period.

You have to build a pretty good semi-auto 22 LR pistol or rifle AND sell it at a reasonable price to get the bulge on a Ruger 22 LR handgun or rifle. "Dream gun" in that category for me is a S&W Model 41 or one of the SIG Trailside/Hammerli X-Esse variants.

Yeah. I have a number of .22 Ruger autos, a 6" was my first handgun, still have it, still super accurate.

The model 41 is very nice if you're into that sort of thing. Like a good Mark whatever it will show you very quickly good ammunition from poor ammunition.

My first handgun purchase(had a cpl from relatives) was a S$W41.

Went in to my friends gun store a cpl weeks before turning 21.Showed him the ID.Said I'll be back.....picked it up on my B'day. It was all downhill from there(gotta have more, foaming at the mouth).
