Wisconsin has gone ahead and done something... confusing.
Instead of the green plastic type material printed out at point of sale, which included the deer back tag, the state now uses plain paper with a laser printer.
At least it didn't use ink jets....
But... what to do with these little pieces of paper in my wallet? Choose the 2 1/2 x 3" size, 25 count, and you are good to go.
The Wisconsin licence is @ 2 1/8" wide, the longer tags can be folded over to fit lengthwise. The bag will fit in the credit card pockets as well. No bulging wallet here. This does bring up a good question, what about the back tag? Did it go away? Might have...

-Carcass tags will be printed on regular white paper.
-Carcass tags are now validated immediately after the kill by writing on them.
-The carcass tag no longer must be attached immediately after the kill. However, the carcass tag must be attached if the carcass is left unattended. If you leave it, tag it!
-While afield, it is illegal to possess more than one copy of a carcass tag.
• Backtags are no longer required to be worn/displayed, and will not be issued by the department.
