Finding a way to get hard PC'd boolits from regular COWW alloy

Afer a lot more reading, nope, doesn't work consistently. Reason is the boundary heat transfer (region of temporary crystal formation) travels up to the hotter material. Or as you have stated, heat moves down toward the base. Going to try placing a hot alum bar on the noses of H.T.d this time. Like the torch method but for PC coated.

I wouldn't intentionally steer anyone wrong, Popper. A heat sink has been proven to work, but you need consistent contact area with the noses and probably a mill to make a plate to fit your bullets precisely.
