S-0-0-0- I thought "how better to use the time than to reintroduce myself to some of my old friends"... I made a decision... I decided the 1919 1903 Springfield and I could use some quality time together....I just recently put a period stock on it and wanted to make sure she shot well enough to warrant putting a Lyman Targetspot on it..(it presently has a Lyman 25 LWBR attached)....

Well she did fine...but boy I could use some more range time ..!!

I spent too many rounds trying to find the target and by the time I did I started to run out of rounds...maybe that was a good thing...as you can see by the target, my shooting definitely had a bell curve to it..

.....

It was fun at the range ..there were about 30 guys shooting IDPA...everyone was enjoying themselves..

I left the bench and wandered around a bit to say "HI....when I got back these were on the bench...

not sure what to do with them yet..I could shoot them as is or remelt and soften them...but either way they are certainly appreciated..

YES SIR...all in all a good day...long in coming ...but a good day...

BTW.. anyone know of a Lyman Super TargetSpot or equ. for sale? I would like a 20X but will consider all..Dan

Thanks Jim..there are a lot of "teasers" there for sure...

If you don't have something 45cal to launch them from, they will make a good basis for 30cal bullets.

I think I will remedy and add pure...and yes make some 30 cals..
Dan,
That is what I would do! They are alloyed to a BHN of 18 no doubt so You can make some nice BHN 12 shooting bullets!
That Is how I do My range Scrap. I pick out all the Commercial cast and Smelt that then I smelt the jackets stuff and Mix 2 to 1 ingots in my casting pot

still looks like the top picture here.

melt them down and cast them as is.
you might just be surprised at how they shoot.
boil the lube off first.
that is how I usually get my 4/6/90 alloy, I melt down store bought stuff and add 2% tin.

80*F and sunny here at the moment, but supposed to be back in the 60s tomorrow.

Commercial hardcast are typically 92-2-6, and I prefer a little less Sb, so would cut them 50/50 with soft and maybe add a touch of Sn. That is typically what my GC stuff are cast from, and mostly water dropped.
