Thought I would introduce myself. I am just an ordinary middle aged man.
I like anything that can get me out of doors. Love hunting, fishing and walks in the woods. Real love reloading and shooting.
Had pulled the lever and smacked the hammer on my uncles presses and dies as a kid and a teen. But never really got into reloading myself until years later.
A couple of years ago I got a notion and bought a Taurus 66, While it was in layaway, I bought a Lee basic .38 special turret loading kit. Thus my trip down the long road of reloading. I have recently played around a bit and cast some range lead into wadcutters , using an iron pot, a turkey fryer base and a lee 145 wad-cutter mold. Measuring the resulting bullets with calipers, remelting the off size and bad ones. Bought some liquid alox and loaded them up behind 3 grains of red dot.
Just purchased a Lee electric pot, have a bit of range lead, pewter, and wheel weights back.
Then I bought a 30-06 and a light bulb came on in my head,"I bet I could cast bullets and make a low velocity load for this too."I asked Fiver for some suggestions as to where to start. As he had been mentoring me for a while. He says you are a good bunch or fellows and I can learn a lot here.
So here I am. Taking the next step, and coming here to learn more about casting. So if I ask a lot of stupid questions please bear with me.
Oh; and I Really, Really love pie. I believe that if someone does not at least like pie then something is wrong with them. I think Adolf Hitler probably hated pie. I believe there is always room and time for a slice of pie.
Thus my girlish figure.[sarcasm]
