Help identifying a wildcat cartridge

Good morning Guys

I have a coffee can full of 45-70 brass that has been necked down to 8mm.
I have googled high and low and found no such wildcat.
At first I thought it was 33 wcf buy then I pulled a bullet and measured it to find out it was .323 diameter.
Any help would be great as curiosity is killing me!

Thanks in advance
Max

sounds like the 8mm lebel or the 8x56 type round.
except I think the lebel is made on 348 win brass. since it's only 50mm long.

Head stamp don't mean much now other than what the wildcat was made from cause it has a shoulder on it now.

I'm about eight hours away from my copy of Cartridges of the World. One of those editions should give all the options and procedures for making brass from available cartridges.

My guess would be the 8X52 Siamese Mauser. At least that is what was used when they were imported in the 1960's.

Siamese 8mm sounds right, but wasn't there an 8mm rebarrel of a Swedish or Danish Rem RB? Seems like
the original round was a close approximation of a .45-70, so if necked to 8mm, may be like what is being
discussed.

That is exactly what I have!
Thanks for all your help guys :)

Does anyone have one of these that could use this can full of components

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Those Sia Mausers were often converted to 45-70. I had one and STOOPIDLY sold it. Picked up a Lee Enfield 45-70 to replace it but it's just not the same.

those velocity's were running right up there with the 8 mauser and such.
no slouch of a round at all.
