We have an amazing variety of tools at hand to access information. Desktops, laptops, tablets, and smart phones, just to name a few. Those different devices may result in slightly different experiences. The information is ultimately the same, but the perception can be different.

The small physical size of a smart phone limits how much text you can see at once. Sure, you can scroll through an unlimited number of pages, but those pages are small. Some of the differences are generational. Younger folks tend to prefer phones for everything. Older folks seem to be a bit more inclined to use a laptop or a tablet.

There’s also the convenience factor. A smaller device than can access the internet can be used just about anywhere. A bigger screen doesn’t change the content, but it can affect the reader’s perception of the message. And there's the real keyboard verses touchscreen interface.

So – What type of device do you use to read this forum?

iPad.

Once I got my first iPad my laptop was never used again. I still have the laptop, but it is easily over 8 years old at this point, and has been turned on less than a half dozen times in the last 5 years

iPad and phone. Both are faster to turn on, the laptop if I have to print something. Plus the only form of communication here at this spot on planet Earth is cell signal is it. Had satellite internet but they stepped up to using multiple satellites, one or 2 are below our horizon. To use the laptop any more requires use the phone as a hotspot.
Waiting on Elon Musk to get his satellite network together..

If I am going to "work" I will always choose the desk top. Just comfortable viewing, then I use the lap top sitting in the recliner. Last choice for viewing is cell phone and nothing so important on the forums that I will check them by cell phone. That makes it clear that I also am "old".

Samsung cell phone, mostly (but the print gets smaller everyday).
Sometimes a desktop computer, when I need to copy and paste.

Laptop only. The cell phone is for telephoning. Yep, I'm proudly and comfortably in pre-geezerhood.

I have co-workers that use a phone (often more than 1 phone) for EVERYTHING. They only use a laptop or desktop when they are forced to.
I perfer a laptop and only fall back to a phone when I have no other option.

I might use my phone when I'm waiting for my wife, at the grocery store. Or sitting in a Doctor's office waiting room. But I much prefer my desktop. I have it hooked to a 32" monitor so that I can see it comfortably, without having to stick my face too close, or tilt my head back to use the bi-focals...
