I subscribe to email bulletins put out by ODF&W.
They are trying to eliminate social gathering and excess travel.
The first thing they did was to quit telling when and where they are stocking legal trout to keep people from gathering in groups to catch the fish.
They are monitoring popular fishing spots to be sure people are social distancing. If not they will close all fishing seasons.
All guided and chartered fishing is stopped because people can not maintain the 6' social distancing on boats.
Yesterday I got a bulletin saying no more non resident hunting and fishing until further notice to prevent excess traveling.
I am a ODF&W Hunter ED instructor. All classes are canceled until further notice.
All ODF&W workshops have been canceled until further notice.
I live in a very rural area of southern Oregon and have not been effected by these rules other than canceling our classes.
Hopefully, we will be able to get in a couple of Hunter Ed classes before hunting season stats this fall.
They can do the bookwork portion of the classes on line but are required to attend a field day that involves handling and shooting firearms.
We will see what happens next...dale

I haven't bought my hunting/fishing license this year because of the uncertainty... I head down to Myrtle Creek to help out a friend with his Turkey problem every spring & fall. It truly is beautiful country down there!!

Stay healthy!!!

Our Governor has Michigan FUBAR as well. They will sell you a fishing and turkey hunting license but forbid you to leave your house except for Meds and Food. Even forbid seeing friend or relatives, even with groups smaller than 10 and social distancing. I think she is just seeing how far she can flex her muscles before people stand up and scream "HELL NO, I'm mad as hell and won't take it anymore"
(my apologies to the writers of the movie "Network".

That sort of power, decrees etc has been concerning to me, where does it stop? Don't want to get political but...

Pennsylvania Fish Commission pulled a quick on on all of us! The opening day of Trout was scheduled for April 18th! However they had a "Soft" season opener this past Monday and caught all off guard! The opening day around here has dozens of places offering all you can eat breakfasts And the State did not want to have that happen to control the close contact of people....in a way very smart!....so the season start was uneventful and there were no crowds of people fishing shoulder to shoulder....like normal opening day
