JSH,
I trap contracts for Delta Waterfowl. I'm assigned blocks, usually 36 Sq. miles, of traditional waterfowl nesting areas. I start the 15th of March and trap until july 15th. I'm paid to remove nest predators from the area to increase duck nesting success. Eight years ago I did a contract west of Huron,SD near Woolsey, SD. The last week of March there was a late snow storm that trapped the returning ducks there for a couple days. The number of ducks there would make most call you a liar. One three acre pond had so many Pintails on it that you couldn't have fit another in it. The shores and part of an adjacent corn field were solid Pintails, with a few Shovelers and Mallards mixed in. I took pictures of sections that had so many Snow geese in them they made it look like snow from a distance. You didn't want to be under them when they took flight!!!
Can't seem to get a picture posted today. Maybe later.
