Folks, I am looking at iron sights for a 24" .414SM Contender. It seems limited.
One front sight option is a Williams 3/16" high Williams Streamline Ramp. The 3/16 is period correct, but has screw spacing of 1.625. Leery of selecting an odd spacing and being stuck with it. This sight should work with the Williams FP-TC.
Another thought is a very low base for a Globe front sight. Might have to make a intermediate rear sight base with a [frugal] Weaver one piece base, it should add @ 3/16 between the barrel and the rear sight's own mounting base.
I could use a T/C front sight, funky, clunky, but uses a common [to Contenders] screw spacing.
Bomar sights also use a spacer on the scope base.
No ladder / vernier sights that are adaptable.
