it has enough mass that it doesn't really need the PID.
adding a good steel lid will add a bit more mass [and is a great ingot warmer] keeping it full really helps too.

Me too Brother Love. I'm using two 20 lb. Lee pots now with thermometers and several alterations. Pretty obvious they could have the heating elements better distributed. I'd love a Magma, but can get two+ RCBS pots for the price. I like having two pots, and have been using two pots for at least twenty years. Started with the 10 lb Lee's and when casting .44 bullets it was obvious pretty fast I needed a larger volume. Decisions--decisions!

yeah I have one on the machine and the other set up for bottom pour.
I ladle out of the 10 lb pot or the 20 lb pot but leave them set up to bottom pour too.
the xcb bullets I sent you were done in the 20 lb LEE bottom poured.
I'm thinking I will give the ladle a go on the next batch, and maybe try a bit more heat.
