I have an all steel Ruger Bisley new model single six. It has an aftermarket brass bead front sight that is higher than the original to fix the point of aim. It has a 6 1/2” barrel. I cast with the Arsenal copy of the RCBS 98gr SWC and pc and size to .314” to fit the throats. They get loaded in Starline brass over 3.5gr Universal and CCI SPP for 840fps.
My friend sold me the gun with a leather holster, RCBS carbide dies, the five cavity mold, and 500 new Starline cases for $500
Very happy with this accurate little revolver.

I have tried some loads and have settled (at least for now) on 2.8 grains of 700X behind a Lee 90 Grain TL swc that gives 950fps and is a nice shooter. For actual magnum loads I usr 10.5 grains of Lil Gun behind a Hornaday 100 grain XTP that gives 1150fps.

The trigger is very heavy. There is a gunsmith that I have used for trigger jobs before, he is not inexpensive and its close to three months on the wait list BUT I gave him my S&W 14-4 for an action job and it went from good to magic.

for now cast, load, shoot, repeat

Jeeze! Now you got me thinking again. Always a dangerous thing to do! I've got to get that 6" Iver Johnson 32 out and figure out how to mount some real sights on it. That would be a really nice tractor gun, if it shoots worth a darn which I can't tell because the "sights" are more suggestion than fact!

Saw boxes and boxes of 30 Super-Carry on the shelves at Rural King today.

Good thing too, because I did not see ONE box of 32 Mag or 327 Mag anywhere. 30 Super-Carry to the rescue!

I am being facetious, of course.

Jezus Walter, did you at least buy him dinner first???

i seen a deal a while back where you got IIRC a S&W pistol in that 30 round, 2 magazines etc., and it come with 250rds. of ammo for under 500$

What can I say? Right place, right time, and scratch in my pocket.

I had one of those Sp101’s, traded it as part of a deal for my outdoor wood stove. One of the best deals I ever made! I’ve got a Single six 4 5/8” in 32 mag and full power loads are still pretty crude for my taste. I use down loaded 32 S&w long most often for live beaver dispatch, way more effective than 22 lr.

Don’t forget about the time I bought 1200 loaded cast rounds of 45 Colt in once fired R-P nickel brass in MTM cases for $100

I'd trade off a lot of stuff for an outside boiler! Hard to tell which is good or bad though.

My very limited experience before they were band here is they seriously suck up the wood. If I remember correctly the most common one used here was the Central Boiler. The shop I worked for sold an indoor wood boiler that was very efficient. Can’t remember the name at the moment.
I had a Harmond wood/coal boiler that I installed when the hammer started descending and I sold it before I ever used it.
The interior area here has some serious inversion problems. Before they were band certain areas would have a heavy layer of smoke held down by the inversion. Once the boilers were banded and removed the problem went away.

Edit: Opps, forgot this was a New Gun 32 caliber pistol thread. Sorry

We just ease back into it with something like: "All the time I wasted feeding that inefficient outside boiler, I coulda' spent making money to buy myself a 32 caliber revovler...."

Well steering this back in the direction of the OP’s general intent.
So, my penny and a half about the only 32 I have is the SP101 4” with sights. It happens to be a 327 Loadenboomer.
If I run across a 32 long or a 32 H&R and I have the jingle it will come home with me.
Kinda looking at the Charter Arms Professional 3” in 32 H&R.
But back to the 327 SP 101. I will finish off the rest of the factory 327’s, then my intent is to load a heavy bullet at no more than 1000 fps. I’ve a NOE 311-137 RF - 3AC which comes out about 140 grains, and as my SP 101 has adjustable sights it should work.
Other then that the diet will be 32 H&R and 32 S&W Long. I have a Lee 314-095 SWC and a Lyman 311-316 which I’m thinking will be the preferred bullet.
But, I’m not speaking from hands on experience so back to my penny and a half thoughts.

I always wanted a SSM in 32 H&R with adjustable sights and by the time I got around to looking seriously they were discontinued. I found a nice one at the Tulsa show a few years back. It was worth the wait.

The NOE version of the RCBS 98 gr swc on top of HP38 works very well. It is about 750 fps so reasonably quiet.

Mr. Ecker is getting close with the "professional" line.

That front sight is as much (or more) an abomination of the expertly "melted" integral front sights they usually use. He was right to offer a different sight on that line, but it should have been a BETTER front sight.

A couple other fellas have shared with me that the glow-worm front sight is actually attached with a screw, so it can be removed easily and then you can get creative finding/fab'ing/installing something more worthy of the rest of the concept.

I have a set of the grips for that gun and they are "better" than the factory rubber, but I've started removing a lot of wood and will remove more to get it to where it needs to be. At least with the wood grips, you have something to work with.

I've been tempted myself.

Had a like-new 4.625" in my hands in '94, I think. Wasn't making quite enough at that time to swing the $200 and my heart ached as I walked out the door empty handed. In '95, I swung a 33% pay-raise by changing jobs, but couldn't find them after that.

I start to get excited about a .32 something or other then I remember I have a S&W Model 60 round butt with a 3" barrel and adjustable sights in .38 Special. I can load it with everything from the Lee 105 to a 195 grain round nose. Typically it is stuffed with a Magma 130 gr. RNFP and 3.5 grains of Bullseye. Not too loud, easy to shoot, and it is just hard to beat a .38 Spl for pure common economy. So I think I'll just stick with that.
