Hello all
I registered here a week or so ago and have been reading quite a bit.
I tripped over this site somehow no sure how.
I really like it.
It seems a lot more low keyed than another casting site I visit.
I don't typically post a bunch but I read everything trying to become better at my craft.
Thanks for letting me climb aboard.

Welcome Wasalmonslayer, glad to have ya.

You look a bit young to be casting judging from your avatar. :D

I know what a slayer is but what might be a Wasalmon?

The state of Washington ...i'm thinking ....WA ....a little bit too "left" of PA but I do like Salmon and a Slayer commands some note!
Welcome aboard!

Hope to enjoy the site. We have a good group of guys here.

Feel free to ask questions. We are all still learning.

Sorry I was away from my phone had to take the boy into the dentist office.
Yes I am in Washington hence wasalmonslayer.
My avatar is one of the 3 joys in my life.
First being my wife
Second being my son
And last but not least that feisty 3yr old in my avatar.
I appreciate the welcome and do a lot more casting and loading now that I have little ones.
My salmon career is on hold till they are a little older.
But pre kids I did my fair share of catching.
They are both very spirited and mom needs a lot of help keeping them in line!
Thanks again for the welcome!

I have been casting about 6 yrs.
Pistol was first and it took me awhile to get the hang of it.
Now comes rifle and let me tell you if can cast great pistol bullets you are very wobbly kinda like a baby giraffe when trying to be consistent with rifle.
This one has been a lot of challenging fun!!!
I am getting it but by know means have it dialed in to be considered a pro.

I have been reloading longer than I have not probably 19 yrs.
Copper bullets are a crutch compared to lead!
I used to shoot a lot of long range stuff out to 1000yds
Now I cast and shoot a few levers, a few wheel guns and a few old 06's.
Don't even own my long range stuff anymore.

Rick would tell you that good long range handgun bullets are the same to cast as a good rifle bullet. Being a sillywet shooter he would know a bit about it.

Casting a good bullet is just the start point. Loading and shooting it without damaging it is the real learning part.

Yep, Loading and shooting it (accurately) without damaging it is the real learning part. Welcome aboard.

I have been making custom seater die stems and using the Noe neck expander plugs to get the bullet started correctly and proper neck tension.
It is definatly a lot more challenging and fun.
I am just coming out of my really busy season so I will get to shoot a lot more now.
After hunting season :)
