I couldn't pass up an offer that Cableas was running. It goes through Feb. 22nd if you are interested. Savage 12FV in .223, .204. .22-250, or .308
I opted for a .223 being as I don't own a rifle in this caliber. My brother bought one in .308.
26" heavy barrel, accutrigger, and synthetic stock. It looks to have a bit better than Tupperware so we will see.
These rifles have apparently been discontinued for whatever reason. They are a Cabelas exclusive.
They also have the oversized bolt handle and a jeweled bolt.
On sale for $319!:)https://www.bing.com/images/search?...08036481353649176&selectedIndex=38&ajaxhist=0
Sweet deal in my book. I bought a Cabelas brand scope for it while I was there. 4x16x44 first focal plane, 30mm tube. 1/4"MOA adjustments with a MOA Christmas tree style reticle.

Ground squirrels will be out in a couple months. Just enough time to work up a load.
All in all, I got the rifle, scope, bipod, mounts, and rings for under $700!
The scope was $249 but I snagged the last one in the store so they gave me 10% of and I got it for $225
Probably gonna be a J word only rifle, but who knows. I'll post pics and results when I get the thing and take it out shooting.

Tough to beat Forster for threaded seating dies.

What's the twist on that rifle? I'm pretty sure Lamar can advise on some 'splody .22 varmint J-bullets.

Try some RE15 with those 69s. My AR really likes 24.5 gr with a 69 Sierra seated to feed from a magazine. Shots some nice scores with that load.

RL 15 is an excellent suggestion. You might also try Varget. With 50-52 grain jacketed I like X-Terminator. H 335 is good as well.

I sold a handgun scope today. I'm using the funds to buy a Boyd's Pro Varmint stock with adjustable comb in coyote color. I got the adjustable cheek piece also.
I'll post pics when I get it put together.
