Anyone that puts their trust in wooly bear caterpillars for weather prediction has obviously never seen a dozen different ones in a day, all with widely different stripe layouts!

Sometimes the acorn theory is an accurate Winter predictor, sometimes not. NOAA and the Navy have a weather guessing complex at the local airport, but even their local weather guesses are not accurate.
