Always thought it odd that Jethro Tull is named after a famous 17th century agriculturist.
Interestingly, Jethro Tull's music was a lot about the English countryside! Their "Heavy Horses" and "Songs from the Woods" Albums would show the true relationship between their name and Their Compositions!

The first concert my daughter drug me to was a bit odd - it was a small venue, the Peristyle, a smallish concert hall in the Toledo (Ohio) Museum of Art. Martin Barr was not there for this performance and it was intended to be something more off the cuff than a regular performance.

It was close and the crowd was small. There was a couch on the stage which Ian would occupy after every few tunes and just BS with the audience. Anything anyone wanted to talk about. He came off as a very personable guy - comfortable and familiar.

His and other band members' formal training had already been discussed, but someone asked him how or where he'd learned to play the flute. He started a bit and exclaimed "I DON'T know how to play the flute!" "I never learned HOW to play the flute." He went on to explain that he picked it up and messed with it, like the noises he could make with it and just ran with that.

Ricky Nelson told a story during his Reno show .
"The hardest thing about the teen idle thing wasn't being on the road and away from home it was actually coming home . You'd be out on the road and everything was " yes sir Mr Nelson , can we get anything else for Mr Nelson, thank you Mr Nelson'...... You get and Mom says ' Ricky go clean your room ' .
