Hi Ben, my prefered load for the 6,5x55 are 10,5 grs but i was courious about a bit more speed because some bullet impacs looks like the bullets are tipping .... 12,4 grs or a bit less seems to be good. Lovex shall be a bit slower as Unique . Klaus

Yes, I shot the 170 grs. Lee Cruise Missile in my 6.5X55 Model 96 several years back, if I didn't get the velocity up a bit, the bullets would " tip ".

Klaus, not all of the bullets are tipping, only the ones that impacted outside of the core group.

I believe the tipping is caused by the bullets being too small for the rifle, and inconsistencies in seating the bullets straight in the case necks, or inconsistencies in how the bullet enters the rifle's throat when fired due to there being too much room around the bullet. My experience is that the military Swedish Mausers require a larger cast bullet than most other 6.5 mm rifles in order to shoot well and not have flyers.

I have pushed that bullet to 2250 fps and maintained about one MOA at 100 yards with it, but I had to modify the mould to make it case .2685" on most of the driving bands. My rifle is a 1903 Carl Gustav with a "1" bore, per the armory disc.

I'd say that looks very promising, Klaus. Those are very mild loads yet -- you have plenty of room to take the loads up past 20 grains if you want to see what more velocity does. My QuickLoad is guessing that your 12.4 grain load is running just 1640 fps (500 m/s) and 20k psi (1380 bar). Not that there's anything wrong with sticking with that 12.4 grain load but the way the group tightened I'd just have to try taking the loads on up a ways just to see what happens.

Since AA5 is roughly similar to Unique in burning speed, it is good to see that it
apparently works a good bit like Unique in this situation.

Excellent group with the 12.4 load. IME, the Swedish Mausers are one of the top
few military surplus rifles for accuracy. I would rate the M39 Finn as the most
accurate, with the 1903 Springfield just a half step behind it, followed very closely
by the Swedish Mauser and Swiss K31. It is interesting to also note that each of these
countries has a culture and history of taking rifle marksmanship as a very serious sport.

The design and execution of their fine military rifles reflects those traditions.

Looks like you have a fine example of the breed, too.

My bet is that with some adjustments, you will be able to get them all into one
ragged hole at 50 m.
