Deer opens Sat. Have buck only tag. Checked zero on 77 Ruger in 7x57, with 139 gr. Hor, MOA at 100, had to adjust down as it has been shooting cast all summer. Zero on the #1 375 H&H, with 270 gr. Noe GC, plodding along about 1700, required a couple clicks change but put the first three into a touch over an inch.
The 375 is a great cast shooter. Last deer I killed a couple of years ago I shot with it offhand at 110 yds.
Lucky me, unlucky deer, and it was a bang flop at that. Always have a back up rifle with me when I hunt
deer, cause, you just never know! Would prefer a nice dry doe.

is that Ruger a tang safety?
that's what Littlegirl shoots, it started out as mine after the wife took the Charles Daley.
but it shoots the Hornady 139 and the 140gr. Rem corelock into some pretty impressive groups if she holds her mouth just right and keeps the barrel clean.
out to 250 yds I don't think your gonna find a better deer cartridge.

That Ruger is a tang safety. First time I hunted deer with a centerfire rifle it was with that rifle. Led me to buy my 270 Ruger with a tang safety. Love that rifle.

I have two Ruger 77's with the tang safety. A .22-250 and a .257 Roberts.

the other one I have is a 250 savage AI.
the oldest girl usually forgets where her ammo is or something along those lines and takes that when she decides to go hunting.
I'm gonna surprise her in a couple of months and put a Huber trigger in her rifle.

6 Rugers, 3ea #1's, 1ea #3, and 2ea. 77's. Love all of them from
the littlest #3 in KHornet, to the 375H&H and 45-70 in #1. All
shooters!.

I've got one in .358 with an 18" barrel, they made a limited number some years ago. Really accurate rifle and handy in the woods.

I've got an old flat bolt 77 that was a gift. It's in 6.5mm Rem Mag. Haven't shot it since the 80's.... Killed several Wyoming Mule Deer with it and it did a good job.

I actually have a few ruger rifles.
lets see the 2 tang safety's.
the skeletonized 308
the hawkeye in 358
the 77-II in 25-06, I think I'm back down to only 1 of them, maybe I still have them both.
the 223 V/T
the 300 bo American
and I think there is maybe one more in there somewhere.

My only complaint is that the stock is beefy around the action, more than necessary. I don't sling the rifle but carry it in one hand. Maybe it's just me, but it's enough to make me want to take a wood rasp to it.

Deer beware. Either will do well, but mine does not like the lighter jbullet as well as heavier ones.

Tang safety R77 in 7x57. My favorite rifle of them all. Took impale, blesbok, kudu, with it, one shot each. 160 Nosler Partition
over a stiff charge of W760, seated way long for the long throat.

Fine rifle. 2-7x32 Leupold on it.
