Reloading on the " GO " !

I want to see my grandson reload someday.

He may not have a workbench, a basement, or an expansive reloading set up like some of you guys do ?

I have him a portable reloading system set up that will be his some day.
It has everything in the box to reload . It can be set up for 30-06 or 38 Special, or anything inbetween. It can be put in a closet or he can slide it under the bed when not in use.

If an individual lives in a mobile home, a small apartment, etc., this would be the ideal setup.
Toss an old towel over a coffee table and start loading.

The dies go in and out of this press so fast, you have to see it to believe it.

I did this with a tool box, it works very well, if you can afford about 2 sq ft the Lee loading stand is another very good option. It is my current setup and all my smalls go into a plastic tool box.

There is no guarantee that he will enjoy shooting and reloading, however he will be exposed it and he will be able to make his own decision.

Thanks,
Ben

Just one more note .........

I once used the Lee Press you see in the photos above to load 6 mm Rem. BR.
I shot 1's and 2's with those loads.

The " Reloading System " is capable of loading super accurate ammo.

I like those quick change adapters for the dies.

Pak Kit 1.JPG Pak kit 2.JPG Here are a couple of pictures of my double "English Pak-Tool" kit for my 5th wheel. Beside the calibers on the tins, the plastic case has dies for 7.62 NATO, 7.62 X 39, 30 Carbine and .223 Rem. There are extra shell holders for 45 Colt and 455 Webley, just in case. Thee is a small wood shotgun shell case for a tin of Bullseye and tin of Herc. 2400, Pacific powder fixed measure and charts for weights, primers and bullets.

Pretty slick Ben. Well thought out! Think if I were going to do a like set up however, would go with 310 tool, lee dippers and dies for 38s/357, 223, & 308/30-06, & 2400 powder. It would be for a bug out kit as the grand daughter is well covered by her father. Like the tool box, very efficient. Might add a couple of sing cav molds, a set of handles, and a small pot and a little dipper that would work over a camp fire.

That's neat, I see you can " load on the go " also.

When I load the 5th wheel I don't know what I am going to bring with me, so that set is pretty universal for me. Plus when you meet another shooter at a campground, you may be able to help him load his brass. Lots of old timer shooters traveling here in the high desert and steppes.

KHornet, I have a backpack set of aluminum 310 handles and dies for 30/06 and 45 ACP. I use a homemade dipper of 4.5 grains of Bullseye and 7 grains of Bullseye and carry the powder in a brass black powder flask. Large pistol primers and I'm ready for the 1903 Springfield with 180's and 1917 with 200's.

Ric, Like your idea of the black powder flask for Bullseys. Have a couple of those around!

I like it! Very simple, but loaded with everything a reloader needs. I am a huge fan of keeping it simple.
Consider this idea.........stolen!

Don't see folks write out "30-1906" very often. Also, with all those Altoid cans Ric must have real nice breath.

I use the Altoid cans in my machinist chests to hold the smaller broken taps, drills and end mills to be ground at a later date into broaches for odd shaped holes and inserts for boring bars.

I also load for 30-1903, 30 Army and 30-40 Krag.

The model '95 Winchester was chambered in all three. Dad had one chambered in 30 Army, aka 30-40. Mine is in 30-1906.

Ric, Are dies and shellholders still available for the Pak-tool? I have one but like to be able to use it for more calibers.

My last contact was with a retired fellow in Orofino, Idaho, but he has not answered emails for several years. I heard through the grapevine that a machinist in Grangeville, Idaho, has the remaining bits and pieces and may be able to make more. But there is no contact information. Maybe "mtngun" on this forum may be of help, as he is from that part of the world.

Nice setup Ben. He is lucky to have you. That kit will be a great start for him.

I hope he does enjoy shooting & that those items aren't considered contraband when he's your age.
