Replaced pre-2012 Mojo Dove Decoy on-off push button switch

Used a couple butt splice connectors to tie in the new push button on/off switch. It sorta fits OK, but if I wanted to do it gonzo right, I would have unmounted the wing stubs (the allen screw is towards the motor), unsnapped the 6v motor from the base, then run the wiring behind the motor (towards the dove head).

My original 4 cell AA battery frame has a detachable battery clip... huh? To save a little room, a 4 cell frame with just wires out might be the ticket...

I wanted to solder the wires then heat shrink them, but the original wiring and the new switch use the silver wire, not copper. My experience with trying to solder the silver wires is that the insulation melts before the solder bonds to the wire... The Ace Hardware butt splice connectors are 22-16 AWG, but the smaller 22-18 AWG is all you need. If you could find some.

For those wanting waterproof butt splices, they are available, about $5 for 4? Spendy.
