Ruger 357 Maximum

Just made arrangements to have one shipped. Any advice from those with experience I'm all ears. My plans are to use the NOE 360 180 RF GC'd to start. No light weight bullets. Have to get brass first.

15.5 gr H-110, CCI 550. Bullets sized to a mild snug fit in the throats. Alloy no harder than 18 BHN. Fire formed brass sized no further down the case than the bullet seats. Starline is a good choice for brsss.

Last I seen star line did not make 357 maximum brass. I wish they did though.
I had my best results using AA 1680 powder and Remington small rifle benchrest primers.
I only have a rifle but I love the 357 max.

I wasn't aware that Starline didn't make Maxi brass so I went to their web page, while scrolling down the page I came across an interesting little bit of info. Starline is now making 308 Winchester. It's new, to begin shipping on 9-9-16. They state it is a thicker wall near the web and slightly less powder capacity.

Ok, back to your regularly scheduled Maxi discussion.

they do make 360DW brass though and it's about half way there.
Remington is the only game in town for the Maximum brass right now.
[I'm 50 pieces short after sending some to be cut into 351 WSL brass that never materialized]
anyway.
I'm running the 250gr saeco on top of some AA-2230 for a plate clinker from the 50 yd line.
no particular reason just cause I got the stuff [shrug] and wanted to see what I could pull off.
but H-110 and 1680 will get you down the highway pretty far.
I'm not remembering any 2400 data but there might be some.
180-200gr bullets of both types would be where I stayed if I could leave well enough alone.

I know it works well in the 44 version under 300+gr bullets.
for the 180 jacketed in the 357 max I have had good luck with H-110 so 4227 should also do well.
