Good Morning

I have really been looking hard at that bullet in a hollow point.
I have a 4 cav plain base mold from Al in that exact bullet.
Were your test bullets hollow pointed?

Well Ben you may have started a trend.
You definatly help me make my decision a quick one today!

I just purchased a slicked up sp101 3" with Novak sights.

It was to good of a deal to miss.
Factory grips, hogue grips, holster, tuned and slicked up.
I will post an image as soon as I get it.
It is 150 miles from where I live.
A good friend has a gun shop and their custom leather work guy just traded it in towards a plastic gun.
He bought it new 2 months ago from the same shop.
My friend called me while he was filling out the paper work.
I feel pretty blessed to have a connection in the gun world!

Happy days !! :)

I will post them as soon as I lay my hands on it!
I don't get real giddy over guns much I have bought and sold hundreds.
I feel like a kid on his first trip to a candy store with this one :)

I put some Wolf springs in my SP 101 today. WOW! What a difference that made. Perhaps the best $10 I have ever spent.

Ben,
Mine grew a little by the time I picked it up.
I did not like the feel of the 3" as much so My friend made me a great deal on the sister pistol to yours and he had a set of hogue grips he made me a deal on as well!
Here's my new hunting companion.

Now off to the preloaded ammo supply to try it and see if it likes anything I have preloaded for other wheel guns I already have.
If that does not work back to the basics of slugging measuring and load developing.

Have a good Memorial weekend guys!
And bless those who have stood and are standing our ground for us!!!!

Nice revolver. If it shoots like my GP100 it will be a keeper. I hate to think of how many people I taught to shoot with my GP100. Has more rounds than any other gun I own. Not many compared to some of you but the 20K+ plus thru it is a fair bit of shooting for me.

I am hoping this gun works out well.
I am also eyeing a GP100 but I want to get this one wrapped up before another project starts.
I will keep you guys in the loop as the project rolls along.

Well guys I finally had time to shoot the sp101.
Let's say I am not disappointed!!!
I found a pet load for it.
Lee 358 125 RF 4.2 gr hp38
5 shots 1 ragged hole @ 12 yd.
The bullet is sized 358 lubed with tac1 and rolled in bll.
I was bouncing shot gun shells around out to about 25 yds.
This is a fantastic specimen!!!

Sorry no photos my phone was dead and then my son shot the whole target to pieces before I could get my phone charged and take a photo.

Thanks Ben for Rollin me over the edge on it and the grip suggestion!!

Awesome.

I may well try that load in my GP100. I have never used that mch HP38 and I was shooting a heavier bullet too.

Be careful, that revolver will probably be broken in after 5000 rounds and fall apart at 2,000,000. Your great grandkids will complain you wore it out!

I ran thru 200 Rnds this range trip and it started to settle in and was really consistent.

On a side note I shoot this load in a smith n frame 357 and it shoots great in that gun also!

The throats on this revolver are all .357

Did I get lucky?

I shoot a lot of hp38/win231 and love it.
45 acp, 40 s&w, 38 spcl.
It meters like butter and shoots well.
