Does anybody remember when the SAECO 6 & 8 cavity moulds were discontinued? Did they even make the transition to Redding?

Thanks!

Yep, Redding had 6 cavity molds, I have one. Don't know exactly when they stopped 6 & 8 but I think shortly after they bought SAECO from John Adams.

I have a 6 cavity & an 8 cavity SAECO 68 in the H&G pattern bevel base. I'm trying to establish a value for them is a world devoid of auction records :) .

In my wishful thinking of time travel pre ebay. Price for item new, but not from store. 50% of retail.
Price for used item. 75% of retail if very good condition.
Price for item well used to good.
25 cents to ahh, gimmy a buck.

In the case of something that has caused severe lifelong traumatic carpal tunnel syndrome, or any other debilitating life changing tragedies I would try and give it way to the first willing sucker.
But, that's just an opinion.

They've been discontinued for decades. Redding doesn't claim any responsibility for them at all.

From what I understand Redding doenst claim anything that bears the old SAECO name. Called about a SAECO lube sizer and got told real quick if it didn’t say SAECO by redding on it, good luck.

I wish I could remember what that 8 cavity sold for on eBay a couple years ago. It wasn’t cheap. one thing for sure, you can always come down on a price, but not go up. If your wanting to sell them, put a price on it. Someone may be a taker, if not back down. For what HG 10 cavity’s are selling for now, Who knows what one would pay.

Thank you Stihl. That's pretty much where I had landed as well. I saw someone on a forum claim that they got some outrageous price for a used 8 cav. sprue plate alone. My pair are in a popular design as well.

I don't know exactly when production ceased, but I ordered a handful of moulds from GAR back in late 1993. IIRC, Saeco 6 and 8 cavity moulds were offered special order, and the three 4-cavity moulds I got were standard production. I remember the guys looking at them in the barracks when they arrived. Hope this helps.

If it looked so great why was it still on your table?

I can do this all day
