Nice rifle and great shooting!

Just had a SS 77V,25-06 come through here yesterday. Those Lam stocks really are neat.

Ben,google Black Widow bows....it's called "action wood".The Wilson bros started BW back in the 50's.Get to their new bows.Look at how hi-end synthetic's are phased into their risers...really think about it.We use action wood because of it's density and ability to cope with vibration. It's predictable.

"You still gotta shoot it"....

The biggest issue we see, besides the problems during the critical phase(internal ballistics in rifle speak) is follow through. Thanks for taking the time to post pics.

Stock trigger?

1 #...Wow!!..
My 2# scare me....
20 yrs ago I was extolling the virtues of the Savages..
The primary response I got was .."but they are ugly"
Well if you want to look good sitting on a stump buy something else...
But if you want accuracy....buy a Savage...then again they probably could not shoot anyways...
Now 20 yrs later Ben is showing us what most any gun built using CNC can do... PROVIDED you can shoot...
WAY TO GO BEN !!
and it's pretty !!!

I need another rifle like I need additional holes in the gourd, but IF the itch
needed a scratch, It would be a Savage. Have 3-4 of them, all better shooters
than the owner.

That is one "super fine" rifle. I love to see loads with unique come together like that....i've got a real soft spot for that old powder.
I've got some fb 315's and unique to work with hopefully soon.

I have that rifle's older brother in .22-250. A real shooter, like 1" at 200 yds if I can do my part
and the wind will hold still a bit. Jbullets. I haven't started trying with .22 cast yet. I have
some raw castings laying around, just need the correct round-tuit.

Bill,

You may have a lot of fun with cast in that rifle ?
I hope so.

I have a Remington 722 in 222 R (Rem 721-722 are my favorite rifle) and it will shoot the RCBS 55Sp beautifully. I can generally keep 5 under a dime at a hundred. I don't believe I have ever shot jacketed in it since I have owned it. Ben, that Savage it not ugly to me! I have never heard of a bad Savage when it comes to accuracy.

Malcolm :

I have always believed that the best part of a Savage is the quality of the barrel.
They are " Shooters " ! !

I always tell people after one of my glass bed jobs.

You are only limited now by :

( 1 ) The quality of the barrel.
( 2 ) The quality of the ammunition
( 3 ) And most importantly the skill level of the shooter.

Ben,
I have a Savage 342 in .22 Hornet coming soon, tend to think that the case volume
is more appropriate for moderate cast loads than .22-250. Never have loaded any .22 cal cast, so
I think that starting with the Hornet will be a good learning experience.
