Silicone Pyramid Baking Mats?

OK, I understand better now after looking at this again on my laptop. On my phone I thought that first photo was showing a plain-based bullet and all sorts of lead was raked back and pushed into the lube grooves as well as trailing off the base. From what Walter and other have said that clear stuff goes on really thick and can be a problem. The powders and methods i've been using don't flow much but can still cause finning of plain based bullets, especially when standing them up. Bottom line is use whatever works.

At this point I’m thinking that the little bare spots that the baskets leave on the side of the bullet are less likely to affect accuracy. I’ve read here many times that a smooth flat base is critical to a good launch. I don’t want any streamers dangling off the back of my bullets.

As far as going on thick. I bought the Eastwood clear gloss because Waco(Walter?) spoke highly of it, it was a TGIC powder(Ian approved), and it could be purchased on Amazon at a good price. I watched Brad’s video on how he powder coats, in it he mentioned the lee dipper he was using. I copied that volume of powder. I watched CW’s video and went with a red Forger’s coffee can for shaking on the Powder(same type of plastic as the Nestle Quick container he uses). I swirl for a count of 35-40 and then dump out into my basket.

Here is the funny part, there is almost no extra powder left under the basket. This Eastwood powder seems to have almost all of it wanting to stick to the bullets. I guess that that is a good thing, I’ve read that some powders just don’t want to stick very well.

I’m thinking that I was worried about a cosmetic attribute, and by fiddling with it ended up with something worse.

I coated up all the 358430's yesterday in mini ice cube trays. I used two colors. One was my mix with 3/4 colors and main was Eastwoods Vermillion. All worked just fine. 35 is as big as will fit in my trays. Thats about perfect cause 35's usually will stand on there bases fine. Yellow are 30 cal 311257 mold.

Completed bullets had there share if hickies. Really no better then basket baking. Allot more tedious loading the baskets.
