Small pistol primers

I'm on their mailing list because I bought ammo from them before. 9mm ball practice ammo w/free .22lr ammo as a bonus. No problems in any way. Prompt shipping, product was as advertised, I trust 'em. If I needed more SPPs I'd be pulling out my CC but right now I'm fine so I'll leave 'em for somebody else.

I'm leaving them for others too. Not to be cheap, but I think I'm more OK on them than others, but prefer to be MORE OK, again, eventually.

I was referred to the site from another member here who also had a successful interaction with them. I have plenty of components but given my lifestyle and time constraints I have been stocking up on 9mm ball and .22lr ammo instead of reloading. Well, I can't reload .22lr ammo and the ball ammo is in reloadable cases so it's all good for now and the near future.

Unless outside circumstance intervene I expect the price of primers to continue to drop, although on a spot basis and as a % off of a higher fallback "base" price. I'd stock up on 2-3k if I could get them for $50/1000 or less.

I put 5 bricks in my cart to see what shipping and HazMat is.............free shipping on the case. :cool: Didn't go as far as HazMat charge. The code would knock $3 off each brick.
 
I'm pretty sure that Norma eats both the shipping and the hazmat. We bought many cases of TAC 22 ammo this past year and never paid a penny over the ammo cost plus tax.
 
iv'e seen a few reports on there being 1-2 duds per brick on these.
i had a feeling those reporting the issues either didn't look at the primers before hand or didn't seat them properly.

just M.O. but these need a little more attention and care than what most guys are used to.
 
Was looking up a load in Dad's old ledger today and coincidentally ran across a page listing primers purchased during 1950. He paid $7.50/1000 for small rifle primers (mostly Winchester). Pretty pricey when you figure the average Joe was making $1.50-$1.75 per hour.

I would think that regardless of how they deal with the costs, they get a good deal from UPS since they such a big shipper. Last batch of TAC-22 SV ammo was $37/brick. Given that it outshoots some of the Eley and Lapua products, that's a steal.
 
I’m out of SRP, been looking up the details on loading .223 down to where SPP are usable. I still have some of those. Will be watching for SRP to come in stock at this price.
 
We have a Scheels in our local mall here. Went in last week to buy some Accurate #9 powder to load 10mm with. They had a rather large assortment of primers available. Federal small rifle match primers were $110 a thousand and prices went up to $149 a thousand for some others. Struck me a little funny that the Federal Match primers were the least expensive. I managed to contain my excitement over the primers being available on the shelf and just left with my two pounds of number nine.

That is straight up gouging. Sportsman’s Warehouse is selling them for $5.50 to $6.00 per hundred. There is a Two hundred limit however. I personally would not support any large chain that is still gouging like this. Online vendors are only selling at $66 to $79 per 1000. I’d sit a store manager down and explain why I was taking my business elsewhere.
