Great cartridge that 7mm08. Yes, 130-140 is about ideal for it. You will not have to turn necks if sizing brass from .308, they will draw in length more than thicken, and the '08 has a VERY generous chamber neck. My Savage 111 barrel will accommodate. 020" thick necks custom made from .308 military blank brass and still have a thousandth loaded clearance with a .285" cast bullet.
He’s got one. He mentioned it when I got my 7mm-08.

his is some silly necked up solid brass rod 25 acp case type thingy that takes one single stick of 4227 cut in half and placed in the flash hole, under a piece of nitrex paper to hold it in place, all on top of the large rifle primer pockets he cuts .00005 under size for a greased slip fit.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
That's a thing of beauty Ian!

Boy o boy! Had some real heavy rain here all day yesterday and into the night. About noon the wind really started to tear too. Had to run Gord to a court appt, (he's having a tough time with this "adulting thing), and by the time we got back around 7PM everything north of the local population center was dark. Should have noticed the houses were all dark and no Christmas lights were on display. SWMBO said the power went out about 6PM. It was warm, so we decided to forego the hassle of hitching up the big 25Kw PTO generator and just roughed it. Other than a UPS for the fiber optic internet that beeped every 30 seconds to tell us it had no line power (thanks for letting us know!) and the wind shrieking, the house was dead quiet. I passed out about 9 and trundled off to bed. Power came back on at 11:55PM. Then the temps dropped to the mid 20's! Looks like lots and lots of ice out there. I know I'm repeating myself, but I hate winter!

7mm hunter?
wait,, Saeco.

there was a Lyman like that but the nose is different.

287641. There were so many different cherries with that designation that they should each have had their own number.

I'm going to start out without gas checks and see if I can get a 13-1400 fps load worked up that will group well enough at 100 yards to be fun. I'm sure the speed bug will get me at some point and I may work up a full-power load (within the reasonable limits of the 1895 action) just for grins. I bought this rifle with my boy in mind since he is showing distinct right eye/right hand dominance. It appears that my daughter is left/left with ambidextrous abilities like me, so I have plenty of levers and bolts for her aside from the Savage 1899 I rebuilt for her.

Appt with Pulmonary doc this morning, results of CT. A few nodules they saw a year ago (that I didn't know about) that haven't changed any. Get some more pills to take for allergies. Then dropped by Suzuki place to look at 4 wheeler. Dang pricy. Ratchet belt she ordered me for Christmas came in. Nice dress one.

Dropped the ol HD2500 off for new rear shackles.

This liquid road treatment is pure poison.

Up until 2007 I had a 1967 F100 FWD pickup. Missoula because of air quality issue and the federal threat of losing federal funding stopped using sand and gravel and went with the liquid deicer. For 30 plus years that truck was solid, as soon as the liquid deicer started it was all over.

I was told by a utility official that one of the reasons they switched to it here was the sand was causing sewer drainage problems.

Loaded 50 NOE 165 Gr Ranch Dogs in 30 WCF brass...Light Low Node Load of 6.3 Grains American Select...Proven very accurate at 50 yard target shooting! Plain base with Smoke's Clear PC! Hopefully I will get back to the range In January after our Public range's "Silly Season" is over!
Between Mid September to Mid to late December..... Serious target shooters do not want to be on the range! Just too many of "once a year" shooters getting ready for the now, too many, rifle deer seasons! Just to dangerous for us to chance it!
So after every hunter bags his Buck and up to 6 Doe! They will all go back to watching tv and drinking beer in January!
The only problem is, Darn, it is cold at that time of the year!
Also broke down and ordered a Large Rifle Primer Pocket Uniformer from Sinclair! Also Bought the drive tool for the drill because I was not sure my drill can open to 3/4 inch! Probably not going to have any effect for me , except "peace of mind" ...since I only shoot Low Node Targets at 50 yards!
