Busy day. First made a bullet tray to fit in a 100 round MTM ammo box for my shooting partner Steve. It hold the bullets for breech seating. Poor guy was using flimsy styrofoam ammo box inserts cut down so he could grab the bullets.

Then took the ink jet cartridges from his printer to a guy in the next town over that refills them. He let me come back into his shop and showed the entire process to me. Spent close to an hour teaching me about inkjet cartridges and what a rip-off they are. A cartridge that may coast you $20 - $30 dollars has about a penny's worth of ink inside. The HP cartridge was designed about 30 years ago and has not changed. So, they have zero overhead in what they sell you today. It's probably about 1000% profit.

Back home and redesigned and rebuilt the breech seater Steve had made for his .32-40. It will now hold a bullet while you insert the breech seater into the chamber and then seat it to the exact same depth every time. It's also adjustable.

Lastly, got a call from Kevin, the guy to whom we gave Steve's rifle after it quit working again on Friday. He said it was full of powder again. I know what causes this. If Steve removes an unfired case, the ejector spits it out with such force that the little foam wad he uses to hole the powder in the case comes out and with it, the powder and falls down into the action. Kevin finished the rifle and a friend who lives by him is going to bring i to the match tomorrow. I will then remove the ejector parts and make it into an extractor only so this cannot happen in the future. No permanent mods required. Just have to remove 4 parts.

It's been so long since I loaded fixed ammo for a match that it was a bit of a PITA to do. And I think I might have had a senior moment. I swore I'd been shooting 17.5 of 2400 in that rifle and that is what I loaded. But I checked a few notes and it appears I've been shooting 17.0 gr. Well, worst that can happen is my scope settings will be off a tad. Who knows, may shoot better. More powder normally means better ES and SD numbers. We'll find out tomorrow. Nothing like experimenting at a match. Geeshhhh.... what a maroon. Fortunatey, there is no Mercedes in the prize pool.

The wife and I were eating our desert tonight. She looked at her Kellog's rice crispy bar wrapper. It was made in Mexico and had Bioengineered ingrediencies but didn't say what they were.
I then looked on the back of my oreo cookie wrapper. It also was made in Mexico and had the bioengineered ingrediences but didn't say what they were.
So much for eating oreo cookies and rice crispy bars!

carbs and sugar all in one package,, what could possibly go wrong?

i beginning to think there is a conspiracy against me when it come to getting a tax return.
i got last years return on Jan 31... of this year.

they sent my return this year to the bank of Ireland, instead of Ireland bank.
now the bank of Ireland is in places like Miami, Boston, and New York.
Ireland Bank is in Places like Pocatello, Grace, and Soda Springs Id.

the obligatory 4hrs. and 6 people later, i'm pretty sure i got the same lady i talked to last time, her badge number is like 10 million and sumthin.
but she always says it like 100-456, 93.
so i every time think wow number 100? you must be like what? 97-98 while she is rattling off the other numbers.

anyway, my account number is 5 digits [never mind the routing number is like 2 billion off] even though the bank has been in business since 1892, it's still pretty small.
so i'm thinking someone out there that's like 175 years old is wondering why they just got a couple K in their account from the IRS.

Ever since Mrs. smokeywolf's diabetes diagnosis, neither of us have been within 10 feet of a donut. While she is "officially no longer diabetic", she still doesn't process sugar as rapidly as the average non-diabetic.

French fries cooked in oil drive my blood sugar up faster than almost anything. I can eat air fry potato slices with various coatings and not have nearly the same reaction for the same amount of potatoes. Something about the starch and fat together triggers something. One of the things I learned from having a Continuous Glucose Monitoring system. (Freestyle Libre 14 day). Learning what foods and in what forms have on my blood sugar is really helpful when planning a diet.

We're all different in how we process foods.

I know-knew better,
But 15 dozen of donuts on
a table.Free for the taking. With free coffee. No breakfast or lunch.
Add extended waits for your turn at the trap. Something has to give. The apple fritters were calling name.
I had some extra fast acting insulin around, just in case that happened.
Got my sugar back down with the sliding scale method. Been a good while since I had to get out the sliding scale and do that.
It's back down to 140, which is not great but is out of the woods, so to speak. If it's still. Up tomorrow will get out and do something extra. For exercise.
I believe I have gotten a few more of those extra storage calories back :(
Any time I over indulge and use fast acting insulin to help get it down, 5 lbs added just like that.
Well can't win all the battles.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Digital or Film?
I ask because film is making a comeback, at least in MN.
There use to be formerly expensive 35mm film equipment on the second hand markets for pennies (maybe even half-pennies) on the dollar. But what is old, have become new again.

35mm was the cats man! Back in the day when you could get 24 hr developing and your choice of 2 rolls of film at a discount- all for like $7-8 a developed roll, less during a sale. My old Olympus got a workout for many years!

Digital/smidgital. Yeah, it's cheap and you can take a decent pic but getting a print is like pulling teeth!

Had a pretty decent day yesterday once I lived past morning. Mornings are tough for some reason. Anyway, SWMBO has decided she has to get back to knowing whats going on in the barn. So when Matt showed up for afternoon chores (his idea of afternoon being 3PM) we all went to the barn. Found out quite quickly that my toast with apple butter that I'd had at 9AMish and my "Boost" shake wasn't enough to keep the old energy level up. She saw me grabbing for stuff to balance myself and I ended up having her trail me around like I was a toddler just learning how to walk. I should grabbed an old busted shovel handle or something. Actually, I should have EATEN more! Got things done and she was very happy with the condition of her goats she hadn't seen seen since last fall. (She didn't see the dead ones go out the door over the months!) We have a base to work from now and I can at least get both of them, and Matts girl who wants goats, involved in figuring out how the heck we're gonna manage things.

But anyway, back to a good day- The kids had sent over one of those heavy foil containers meant to be put in the oven and re-heated. The Angel said it was just pasta, sauce and 3 cheeses. Warmed it back up and ended up eating 2 helpings. I could actually feel the difference in energy! And it didn't even have any meat in it! Making yourself eat when you don't want to is pretty hard for me. But this was a good lesson in WHY I need to do it. After I ate I felt so much better! I suppose it's all a learning process. Seems kind of silly when I read it, but it was kind of a dope slap for me.

Whole family is coming over for a Sunday get together this afternoon. My granddaughter has qualified for some sort of "Vet program" by winning some FFA awards...I think. It's an FFA program anyway. She's 13 and very excited about this. Such a happy kid!!!

I started with 35 mm film, back in the early 70's. Have lot's monies tied up in Canon equipment. Have two Canon bodies (FTB & fully automatic EF). I never want to go back to film. Too costly to develop. Digital gives you instant feedback on pictures that you can edit/delete and retake if necessary. When you get back to a computer, you can edit your pictures. Increase color saturation, crop, resize, etc.

As far as printing pictures, all you need is a color printer and photograph quality paper. Or you can email your chosen print over to Walgreens and have them print them for you.

Not only that you can send your pictures, as attachments to friends, relatives and even to this forum to assert a subject of a thread.

Cindy has sent photos over to sites that make metal, glass and canvas prints of you photos. She has used places like Shutterfly to even make several books for herself and friends, on their hiking & kayaking excursions.

No need for a darkroom, either.

Digital is so much easier. No need to wait for developing. Can easily manipulate the image to get it just right.
I would never want to go back to film.

We own a photo printer so that is simple.
