well I was gonna drag the boat down the road to the local lake and do some evening/night fishing,
it's the full moon and July so the catfish should be getting into spawn mode.
I went down and checked the lake out when they had it drained to the river channel this spring and seen some good areas where they would be.

unfortunately one of those lightning storm cells come through with enough wind and hail to really make a mess of things around town.
when the hail quit it poured rain like crazy for about 45 minutes, the wind was slamming the storm door open and closed so hard I thought the glass was gonna break.
I finally went and put a screw in and tied it closed.

My generator is not on wheels, doesn't get towed anywhere, has nothing to run except the house, doesn't get disconnected or reconnected to anything for any reason, is in compliance with the law and is profoundly convenient. Never said you should have an automatic transfer switch, said why I have one and wouldn't be without one. Since your happy with your system that is a mighty fine thing. I too am happy with my system. Even happier that I don't have to tow it around.

Ah, but being able to tow it around means the welder and air compressor also on the trailer can be used to make in the field repairs! It's a trade off.

Made a mess of bales yesterday and almost got it all finished when the main drive chain on the round baler broke. Considering the chain is likely 40 years old it's held up well. Showered and drove 40 miles to the Urgent Care place. Yup, I'm sick. Thanks for the verification Doc. Got some meds and actually slept last night. By going to see the Doc I also missed the big church meeting that was so bad it actually got physical from what I'm told. Faith is a wonderful thing. People just screw it all up and if there is money involved...well, all bets are off. Do your thing people, I'm not playing that game.

The irony is so thick,I can taste it..... and it doesn't taste good.

Don't need the scorecard other than to say I'm probably on about life 7,maybe 8.... counting to 9. It's been anything but boring.

Go to the store just now to get some diesel, and almost get,head-on by some prick in a 250 sized PU truck who has his face glued to a ____ cell phone. And gun violence is what's on the news? Sheesh,do the math from an energy standpoint.

Further ironic'ism.... when fletching a carbon arrow it's generally recommended that you run it on a spine checker to find the,"high spot"..... well golly, gosh, dadgum, ain't that why Doug(Easton) got all wound up about leaving wood and going aluminum?

The more things change, the more they stay the same.... or some such? Just happy to make it home alive.

And every bit as glitchy and confusing. Hit a little bump and poke the screen in the wrong spot accidentally, thing changes modes and goes off into wonderland. Stupid.

Touchscreens are cheaper than knobs and buttons, however....VICTORY!!!! I found a window unit with TWO MECHANICAL KNOBS. Brand new. No remote control. Heck yeah.

I despise the touchscreen garbage on my new Accord. I just want some KNOBS to tune
and adjust the volume, you idiot computer geeks!

So, is it because a generation has grown up seemingly permanently mated to handheld touchscreen social media gizmos that the rest of society has no choice but to accept said gizmos in their cars?

The local streets are but paved foot and cow paths, from the 1700s, with many three and five-way intersections, and a street that has three different name changes within a quarter-mile. It's kind of comical, but frustrating and dangerous at the same time, to have to contend with tourists who rely on their navigation systems but still get lost. To exit one highway and enter another, one navigation system directs exiting drivers to cross two lanes of traffic, within a few car lengths distance of exiting, and turn left across a raised center divider and onto a short dead-end street.

It's a feature-driven market. Companies compete to wow their consumers whether the features are demanded or not. Go to SEMA sometime to see where all this over-the-top technological b------t originates.

Finally had a few minutes to get out of shop (worked all weekend finishing up a couple jobs for our guys that are going to the OshKosh airshow the end of the week) and run by the building site and take a few photos. Here they are.

View from back of lot facing west. The pain in the butt neighbor's house can be seen right across road.

You can see the concrete pillars that everything is built on. Very little wood touches the ground.

View exiting the property. Note the tree and all the bushes that block visibility. I'm trying to get the city/county crews to do something about the situation.

I've been to SEMA, closest thing to the awe of SHOT I've ever seen. Absolutely amazing thing that's a must do at least once.

That is looking like a building, Keith. I can see that they have the gravel outside pretty nicely graded
and maybe even rolled.
When the pour the floor, do they pour that bottom part of the wall? Looks kinda like form boards
an could pour up to the board, and only have the steel in the concrete, wood above it. But maybe that
is just the space for insulation, maybe foam slabs inserted there.
Good to have it under roof.

I'll be going to Oshkosh, will get to give my knee a workout. :) We won't go up until Thursday of
next week, though.
