She said her brake pedal goes al the way to the floor. Got fluid, pads need replacing but not gone. Get to replace them tonite, otherwise get a brake job at dealer when I take it in for master cylinder fix. It does pump up OK, just no power brake. Check the vacuum line - if you can find it. 2.0 turbo Hyundai sport. Temp is 90's yikes.

Welcome aboard Jeff, if i missed an intro, sorry, but welcoming you here anyway. See your right next door to us Buckeyes.
Might be more snow coming for both of us later on according to my latest Goggle search. Not much but just a light frosting.

We just had our first round of tornado's last night , in eastern Ohio. Got some hail damage to the gutter. Now I have water running inside my bedroom wall, nothing I can do but redirect it till things dry up then up the ladder we go.

One of the fellows at work was not so lucky, but lucky none the less.
Tornado went thru his Mobile Home community, last night, wiping a lot of them out.
He and kids were home. Tornado just picked up his mobile home with them all in it, and moved over 5 ft. Course he has no electric or plumbing now. And he will have to have all that gone over when he gets it back in place.
A lot of his neighbors houses were destroyed. No one in the court was killed, with 1 hurt bad, but recovering.

I have my “get out of jail free” letter should NE or IA decide to go to a curfew or other enforced stay at home order. I will be one of the last jobs to be labeled non essential.

I can't be non-essential as long as I am helping wife with group home staffing. pseudo health care provider

I've been learning about pickup toppers (Toppers in Minnesota are known as Camper shells in much of the USA). I'm looking for one for my truck (regular cab long box). When I was a teenager, any topper would fit any truck...Cuz, no one would put a topper on a short box. These days, there is a topper to fit anything, and besides the different sized trucks and different length boxes, there are boxes that have a taper (instead of being square) and of course there are toppers matching body style. So it makes it real difficult surfing craigslist for a used topper.

Today, I finally found a reasonably priced one. Some guy scrapping out a 89 Chevy (same body style as my 2000). The truck is pretty tough, but the Aluminum topper looks minty, from the photo's the topper seems to fit good enough, but not exact, it probably ain't designed for that exact body style. For $75 that's good enough for me. I hope to get it, in the next few days, photos will follow.

Hey Jon, if your get that topper and need to make any small repairs or modifications, you are welcome to use my shop. I've got 24" shear and box & pan brake, plus rivet gun & bucking bars, etc. Heaviest aluminum I have is .060 5052 alloy. I've also got some assorted orphan aluminum angle, etc.

That's a totally awesome offer. I hope I don't need anything like that, because I just wanna set it on the truck, clamp it down, paint the roof white (the topper is all black..or dark blue? ...can't tell exactly because of photo lighting...the scrapped out truck is 2 tone blue)

Images stolen from the craigslist ad.
the back lower corners are wonky, not matching the box style.

So, don't you all laugh...
while I've never really wanted a topper, I have a plan.
Depending on this virus stuff and what businesses are allowed to re-open, my veggie farmer friend is worrying about his tables at the 3 Farmers Markets he does. He asked if I wanted to partner with him this year, the plan was to use my garage as a packing area for boxes of Veg and then offer pick up at my garage or delivery. A huge refrigerator would be a great thing to have for the Veg...second best thing would be a household AC unit mounted in one of the windows of this topper ;):oops::rolleyes::cool:

I'd call that close enough.

did I ever mention I got another new neighbor?
I swear the house next door has a revolving door on it.
at least these ones were out doing yard work, that yard hasn't seen anything except an occasional lawn mower in at least 7 years.

Jon, that looks pretty good. As long as it has good bones it should work out for you.

When I was moving from Alaska in 2005 I bought a work-style topper for $100 knowing it was too long for my truck. The guy I bought it from thought I was a little crazy.

Ya just gotta be able to think outside of the box and do a little “Redneck Engineering” at times.

Took it home, removed the side doors, cut a section out of it, and put it back together. Pretty straightforward.

It got me to Texas and later it just went off to the scrapyard. But it served my needs at the time and I didn’t have much $ invested.

After the marijuana dispensary robbery grocery acquisition earlier today, my criminal behavior continued unabated for a good portion of the afternoon in the company of Friend Of This Site Rick Tunell, AKA Buckshot. In blatant violation of County and City decrees, he dared to LEAVE HIS DOMICILE and park his new Ranger in my very own driveway, then call my cell phone to announce his arrival. I said HERE--HOLD MY BEER DIET COKE and opened the drawbridges (garage doors) to allow entry. Yes, we were scandalous. The social distancing guidelines were largely followed during his display of the 3 VERY NICE firearms he snagged late last week at our local reloading & war toy emporium. These came out of an estate sale, and he did VERY WELL both price-wise and quality-wise.

1) 1909-made Winchester Model 1886 in 45/70, Lightweight 2/3 magazine variant with straight grip, 24" barrel. Un-messed-with, about 95%. NICE.

2) 1956-made Winchester 1894 in 30/30, classic 20" barrel and straight grip. Un-messed-with, 95%. NICE.

3) Late-70s-made S&W Model 10-6 x 4", 38 Special at 95%+, slight holster wear at muzzle. All original.

I emphasized that at any future time he felt the need to dispose of any of these arms to make sure to not keep that info a secret, and that I would be good for money to enable same. I am happy for him. Goodness, that '86 was SCREAMIN' at me.

I used to live in Wise County, but we had black and white licence plates.

Well Ian, that was awhile ago. I don't remember when they switched from the black and white plates. As I recall those steel plates were made at Huntsville - the prison, of course, not Sam Houston State Teacher's College, my parent's alma mater ;)

Rick comes up with some of the coolest stuff.
you know it exists and maybe even have seen pictures of it, and maybe... even flipped the price tag around on one before your fingers started smoldering.
he just comes across one for 49.95 in the local paper WTS adverts and it's still there 2 days later when he goes to check it out.

Don't know all that I'm doing, today, but the range is closed till May 3 so shooting is out.

The laptop's new mouse is scheduled to arrive soon, and it would be great if it and the computer shake hands are agree to get along together.

The other day there was a small pool of water seeping out from under the dishawash (local Italian/Sicilian lingo) but I couldn't find any evidence from where. It could be that the door was shut enough to close the door lock switch, but not enough to form a good enough seal against the door gasket. The only thing I do know is that it hasn't leaked the three times it's been run, since, and that the whole episode is baffling and weird. Anyway, I'll be laying on the kitchen floor re-installing the kick panel, then struggling to get back up. Getting down is easy . . .

The craziest thing this morning.
The sun was out until about 8:30am
then the clouds grew dark, wind started blowing heartily, in seemingly all directions.
It's started to rain, then a minute later snow started mixing in, quite heavy, I might add.
That lasted about 10 minutes, then the sun came back out, but it remained breezy.
Snow covered everything, but melted in an hour.

Someone on FB posted this photo 45 minutes later, they were 30 miles east of me...it's a westward view.
They called it a Snow Tornado.
