Got up and headed to the loading room.

Just interesting, loading and researching for a bolt action 223. Try looking up anything "223" on the web and notice the ratio of AR vs bolt action info. Just don't matter how specific the search entry is neither..... it's at least 10-1 ,AR vs bolt. Something as simple as primers....

Probably should start using 222 in the search?

Been raining all day, so I did a little reloading. Got tired of not having a .224 top punch for my Lyman sizers so I grabbrd one of KeithB's blanks, fired up the lathe, and made one.

My lathe is anxiously awaiting his baby brother. Should be a month or so. I have some projects planned already.

Raining. We had a pretty decent draught going on all year and then it started raining the Sunday before labor day and hasn't stopped since. So far we've accumulated 6.5" with more on the way. Feast or famine is the way it goes around here.

Close your door, the heat and humidity are climbing here again and I blame you.
We got plenty of rain for a week and finally have dried out.

Need Bill and I to come and caulk that sucker closed?
I am ready for days like we had last week. Lows around 55° and highs around 70 to 75. Now we are back into the upper 80s.

Don’t complain too much, saw a report on a meteorologist who estimates that Florence will dump over 10trillion gallons of rain on North Carolina, enough to cover the entire of water. He estimates the entire rainfall from the state could cover the entire state of Texas in 4”of water.
No way I need that kind of rain. Hope those people are doing OK.

Got a good start on shooting up a bunch of poorly cured PC coated 452-200rf in my Sig 1911. Been doing PC on bullets for my 25-20 and 38-55 with no problems for a couple years. Guess I probably had too many in the oven at a time and didn't get enough heat soak, even though I had an oven thermometer on the tray with them. I can beat them flat with a hammer with no flaking, but recovered bullets show loss of coating in the grooves and in between. Barrel leads more than I'm comfortable with with these bullets. Bullets lubed with Bens red and topped with BLL don't give much of a problem.
I sent this barrel to Doug for throating when I first got it and he noted that the chamber was eccentric to the bore. He recut the chamber thinking he could clean it up, it came very close but not quite 100%. The gun functions great, no failures since I got it back from him, so I've ignored a slight leading problem till this batch of PC. Doug reccomended staying under .452 on this tight barrel so I've been sizing to .4513. Tried alloys from Bhn 10-16 with no changes. Starting to think I may need to change barrels in the future.

Moved the older teen into his dorm today. He got the classes he wanted, which is kind of rare, especially first year.
He was at his 3 day orientation when Timber passed, he took it very hard. He was 7 years old I think, when we got Timber. Timber was 11 weeks old.

Gonna take quite a while before a new normal is established in this house and frankly, I'd just as soon get the for sale sign planted and establish the new norm in a house in Northern AR. We are getting closer, but like my last divorce, it's happening at a snail's pace. Won't get another dog until we move.

I ran about 800 .41 bullets through the Star while I was watching my college team lose at football today. Now I'm just sitting here listening to some loud music coming through the woods. 'Neighbors had a wedding over there about 14-16 hours ago and even though it's after midnight the DJ is showing no signs of letting up. I understand it's a wedding and all and hope they have fun, but I hope the partying is just limited to one night.

I understand how you feel smokeywolf. Things changing a lot, establish new over a wide
range in a new place, new start.

Good luck in the move. Good to have a kid off to college. Hope he can avoid the brainwashing.
Ole_270, perhaps a few hundred Jbullets to smooth the bbl, or a dozen firelapping bullets.

Went out in the shop last night and melted down three coffee cans full of reject bullets I had been collecting. Ended up with 95 pounds of nice clean ingots.
