man Ian.
a J-cutter, D reamer, and a fluted straight reamer would be my go to move right about now.
but then again I could use a decent 8mm mold.

I'm just pup too . Family life expectancy only gives me about 25 yr so I'm about done with any whip cracking .

Spent my own money and looked over a lot of hill and dell from Bia San Quentin Baja to Calgary BC . Lot of country I'd like to see some more of like a trip to Kentucky lake and drop by the Moore's and see if they will replace some jigs "tied especially for Bill Mitchell" in 1962 .

Not saying "I'm OLD" here, but I do remember Mastodon Watches being set during my youth. My Dad was on call for that once every four weeks, Sunday to Sunday at 0600 hours. The on-call pay came in handy, and the call-out overtime bought a new oxcart every 4 years.

I cast up about 300+ Lee 200gr SWC 45 acp bullets with my new 6 banger mould in 36 minutes!
It ran great Lee has to be doing something right!

Don nothin' all day. Day off.
Now it's 7, getting dark and everything closing thanks to Rona. Since I am usually winding up at work right now, body says hustle time, time to go do something. All my house work is outside, currently in the dark.
Think I will take a run to the only open store with in 10 miles, not because I need anything, just to be motivating.

Well. took wife,so what was going to be a half hour walk around, ended up a wallet emptying excursion.:sigh:
How she knows how much cash I have, right down to the nearest dime, then manages to get just enough stuff to take it all. I will never know. o_O
Well since out for lunch money is gone. Think I will load up some. 38 special to go shooting with, before of after church tomorrow instead.

Put a new water pump on a JD 5210 tractor. Worse part of the day. Best part was cooking for my wonderful wife who supports all my gun related activities (as long as I let her shoot up my supply of 32 mags in my/her Ruger Bisley) for her birthday. A few margaritas with my sister and BIL to cap it all off. Who’s complaining?

the three others that occupy my house went down to Pocatello for the day for some reason or other.
I decided I needed a burger and some sweet potato fries for lunch about 20 minutes before anything in town was open.
yeah Saturday no one is open until noon except the little diner.
I didn't want to sit down and eat I wanted to bring something home and watch the race while I ate.
I put a new wiper blade on the truck while I waiting, then got my lunch and went home.
ate more than I should have then promptly fell asleep in the chair out in the shop and missed the race.
woke up in time to go grouse hunting, but someone was up in the spot I was gonna go.
so I went and picked up the G-boy and took him to look at the deer coming down in the hay fields right before dark.
come home and the drunk monkeys were all in their rooms.
best day ever.

It's Sunday morning and my big buddy is still here leaving tomorrow morning. My lovely wife should get home from her excursion Monday afternoon. I've been pretty busy and missed some birthday so happy birthday to all of you most recent celebrants.
This week has not gone exactly as planned. Almost no squirrel hunting except for those couple of hours the first night. Big Steve sez too green yet. Two fishin' trips okay on Tuesday, pretty darned good on Thursday, (full moon). Targets were bluegills and perch. Only a couple of keeper perch but we got into some very respectable gills on Thursday.
Worked on cutting down an Ash tree dying from the Emerald Ash borer, (another gift from Asia), dragged the 22' log out into the trail and chunked into 3 sixes and a four. Got the forks of the Kubota under them and waddled home a mile. Used a hewing hatchet and a barking spud to remove the bark. Steve was stunned by the pattern of the borer damage under the bark. Wedges and a mall split one to begin the process of making a shaving horse. That was on Friday, got up Saturday mornin' and felt like I'da been run over by a truck.
So we took it easy yesterday. Took the recycling in and later took the Olds for a drive. Steve also has a 57 and he wanted to drive mine. When we got home we fiddled with the non-working heater. Everything should work but there is a myriad of vacuum lines and diaphragms. Layin' on my back with my right leg over the front seat wearing a head lamp, oh goody!
Also this week of fun and recreation featured an oil change in the Indian, and oil change in the hotrod. Loading my buddy's truck with oddly assorted antique tools and iron. (I hope his wife doesn't find out I gave him all that crap as he already has plenty.)
What didn't happen was all the squirrel huntin' and target shootin' I wanted to do. We did cast up a bunch of Minie balls for an original contract Civil War musket Steve has, (can't remember the manufacturer it was out of Massachusetts.) While Steve ladle cast those I ran off a couple hundred or so Lyman 401043's? 175 grain RNFP for my .38-40's. No crimp groove but a good looking bullet. I was lookin' for something else and found the double cavity mould in the pile of detritus that is the closet off my reloading disas.......err ah, room. I used a Hobson's choice alloy and then threw in a few pounds of pure to make sure they are fairly soft. I may want to plink my Winter's venison with my 92.
Today? Well, I still need to clear out more crap in the one shed as I am contemplating a hoist. Then I have an old Miller stick welder that I can barely operate, ( if I absolutely have to, I guess ala Red Green.) Steve is an accomplished welder/fabricator and wants to show me how to set the welder for different thicknesses etc.
While it has been busy and entertaining, this week has been long on working and projects and a little short on the "fun" part. Hard frost this morning serves to remind me of all the other things that need doin'. I also found time to climb up on the roof and clean the chimney so we could have a quick fire in the wood stove to drive off the chill while we were fixin' Belgian Trippe and kraut for Supper last night.
Judging from the birthday reminders, I'd say a lot of us are at the "hard frost" stage of our lives. Won't be long until it's Winter.
