Spent yesterday in the woods. well, the edges of the woods actually. Got in a couple loads of wood. Mr Chainsaw still makes my back hurt. Must be there was no miracle cure over the summer. There was a time I could run the saw all day and never feel it. Not anymore! Also spent some time just sharpening a couple of the favorite saws. Gords Echo 670 came with this odd style raker (depth gauge) I've never seen before. It's a sort of folded over affair, not just the shark fin most use. It's not a safety chain, but it's the only one I've seen like it so far. Luckily, my raker filing gauge just clears it width-wise and I got them straightened out. Saw cuts like a demon now. Did the same to the Jonsered 630, but found I still need to dress the bar back to level. There's something oddly satisfying about sharpening a saw and seeing it cut many, many times better. I also got the JD crawler and cleared all the snow off our wood cutting area. Pushed the remaining "green" stuff we'd blocked into a pile to unstick from the ground and split that up. Then I pushed/dragged the last 2 red oak logs I'd cut last year into place for cutting today- I hope.
Finished the day off with burgers and watched "Quigley Down Under" with the girl kid. She loved it.
