Southern WI deer on the move 1 Nov 2016

Yesterday I was hardly a mile from the house and had to slow down for a doe and the following four pointer crossing the road at 0705 CST (just about BMNT!). There was a plowed field on one side and a picked soybean field on the other.

All you young heroes need to plan your early morning drives so that you have a little cushion for taking care near deer haunts. I'm retired, so I can burn up the road at 45mph or less and still get there on time. :p

One hail Mary pass near Avalon, a 45mph construction zone at a junction, doing 45+, and there is a line of reflective poles on the centerline, then a break for the intersection to the connected road, then another line of reflective poles...

This dude (what woman would be so stupid?) passes me at the intersection, to the LEFT of the line of poles, then has to get to the end of the poles before merging back into the lane. If I was driving an M88 recovery vehicle, I'd love having an idiot try that with oncoming grain trucks... Oh, did I mention that there are grain semis and straightbeds rolling about late at night and in the morning?
