My T/C Barrel in .222 Rem. is new to me.
I had loaded cast loads for it in 10 round lots.
Once I got the scope close to zero, I fired 10 rounds and was moving my scope a couple of clicks at a time to bring the impact point close to the center of the bull.

I'm very happy with my new barrel.

In the photo below, I'm shooting 2 -3 rounds and then moving my scope to get the impact point to the center of the target. This thing WILL SHOOT ! !

While I was there, I pulled out my Handi , 30-30 with Ranch Dogs , sized to .310"
my favorite load of 7.0 grs. of B'Eye with a large pistol primer.

5 rounds at 50 yards ( I'll take the blame for the round that is out
of the group ) :

Nope JW, not after today..........
No surprises for me ! !
My friend Bryan fired some Ranch Dogs, sized .310" out of his .308 Win. single shot.
16.5 grs. 2400. He fired a 3/4 " , 5 shot group at 100 yards.

They will shoot ! !

Kevin,
This is the updated NOE Ranch Dog...Not Michael's original design. I have also had far more success with this in my JM Marlin 336 and my Savage 340

Ben, that bullet is functionally almost a clone of my Lee 311041 copy that shoots so much better than the Lyman version. It has a .305" intermediate nose band at the base of the full-diameter band directly in front of the crimp groove. That intermediate band meets the throat and helps keep the bullet nose centered as it rides up the pipe, so it's no surprise it shoots very well. Same thing with the other RD moulds with the long, two-taper ogive, just that they don't have steps and fit larger, longer, or more worn throats a little better.

Ian,

Quite a few people almost convinced me that I'd have trouble finding a rifle that would shoot this bullet well. I must be a pretty lucky fellow. The 1st three rifles that I shot the bullet in did VERY WELL with the bullet.

Ben I am currently working on some Pc'd loads for the .222 I am casting 45 and 55 gr. Boolits . I have 300 55 gr. Cast at .227 ,planning on coating them resizing to .225 then Powder coating them. The final diam. Will be as coated .227. I will push them thru a .225 die and have load ready boolits. I am new to this .222. Game except for some tutorial from CB WEB SITE. I AM THINKING ABOUT TRYING SOME BR-5 AS A STARTER POWDER. CLOSE TO UNIQUE. ANY THOUGHTS OR MAYBE SOME DIRECTION ON CHARGE SIZE OR ANY STUFF I NEED TO LOOK FOR OTHERWISE. MANY THANKS.

I shot 5.7 of Unique with the 225415 today.
It shot well. Of course, I'm not powder coating.
Might be a good place to start ?
