T/C Contender

I found a Contender with a 14" 44 mag barrel with a Simmons pistol scope for $400. It is in good to very good condition. What do these run? I have never priced one before and am completely out of the loop and am interested in this pistol.

You did OK.
The Simmons may or may not stay together on your .44 Mag. with full tilt loads ? ?

I am 2nd in line for it, a gent is looking to pick it up on Friday. If that falls through then I get to pick it up. The scope is older, probably early 80's. For what I want to do which is shoot 250 gr cast at about 1100 fps it should be ok. Of course my PM was 2 minutes late... so goes my luck!

Yes, milder loads will extend the life of the scope.

I had a friend who was a die-hard made in the US guy go to Simmons handgun scopes when his Leopolds and Burris' would not hold up to his Super Redhawk. You did OK with out the scope $$ wise, treat it like it was free.
