Told an engineer bud I needed a brush guard for our hotrod tractor a few weeks ago.You know, before we trash the bodywork. He nods, don't say nothing. He texts me yesterday and says to drive shop truck over. I'm thinking he wants to kill a cpl beers so show up.He's got all this on the back of his truck and says, "will this work"......

Uhhh,yup..... tail wagged,all the way home,haha

Somewhere in there is a nice brush guard. All you have to do is find it! Good score.

It's crazy,at my age, still being paid for muscle? So,after a looooong day of busting arse, get to offload steel, then turn truck around and load up scaffolding and parefenallial. Headed back to the John Deere "nightmare" neighborhood with a mucho better attidude.Gonna be 40' up in the air, building a "party deck". It'll take 2 hrs to get to a 4-6 hr job.1st rule of contracting, you gotta get to the work.2nd rule is,materials in,trash out. 3rd,cheapest thing you can do for an employee is,pay him..... money buys talent.

Y'all have an absolutely wonderful weekend! I'm taking a bow, haha.

Ian,you'd luv the building we're setting up for a ..... at the risk of sounding creepy, stupid drop dead gorgeous realtor woman.1880's

Put it this way.... I got plenty to keep me busy. When she called and told me where it was.Like a moth to a flame. But it IS the doodoo.Folks stop by ( it's on the 30 yd line) everyday, and once they pick their jaws up,start regailing us with stories about the place.

brush guard?
I see a cow tipper and deer remover in that pile.
double I-beam and square tubing with the corners notched, gusseted and welded to follow the front end around should shed a couple of hundred lbs of anything you happen to bump into.
I see enough diamond plate there to make it a step bumper too.
a nice powder coat shouldn't cost too much either.

Sounds like Texas, build moose guards for 120-lb whitetail, just barely enough for those 80 mph encounters. The JC Whitney "brush guard" in a box you can carry under one arm and put together with an Allen wrench don't even register on the radar....unless "you ain't from around here", then you learnz real quick.

Mmm, looks like a pile of fun.

Mulling over a design for an insuranceless driver/deer guard & mount for snow blade interchangeably to 2 97 k2500's, one burb one stndrd cab.

Last one I made on a 77 f250 hiboy survived the illegal left turn in front of me, Nissan drivers escapade. It's still in use by the new owner. Front end protection almost can't be to strong.

What I'm offering isn't even close to the truckload of structural that you got. On the other hand, I can sure understand having to clear out the scrap pile every so often.

I see several canoe racks and a couple serious winch mounts in there.
Being a trapper, we call those brush guards "bait catchers". Everything likes venison.

You got that right.

Got a rain delay today so,took to fabrication chores.I think this is funny....

OK,get a truckarse wagging load of structural steel and only used a cpl pcs of 3X3 angle. There was an old reese hitch from a long departed shop truck in " inventory".So cut it up,Tigged it back together, even utilizing the angled frame attaching plates.Still have the "hitch" capabilities. So didn't use the new load of steel.....doh.

Gonna hold off on brush guard for now.Thinking, this weldment which looks like a racecar "splitter"(upside down)BTW ..... sticks out front enough for casual protection. The brush guard needs to be MUCH more than a cpl bars welded.

So,gonna make a real badarse one that'll pop on/off.Expanded metal between the supports, wrapping up and over hood, ala Thunderdome, for use in the woods.Take it off when mowing and "styling" in the yard.
