I can believe the fun part. I had an original Colt, built in 1891, chambered in 38-40. No recoil and it worked flawlessly. Something about those two things combined with the pump action made it one of the most fun rifles I've ever shot.

Went shooting with JimE this morning and brought this along for the fun factor, definite win. All day I kept reaching for it an another hand full of cartridges to bang away at 75 to 100-yard gongs, ended up with half a coffee can of empty brass between it and the Taylor's 1973 convertible.
