The ultimate .30 cal. bench rest cast bullet rifle

One of these days (today, I hope) my cast bullet fun gun will be ready. It isn’t the «ultimate BR gun», but it is adapted to my taste

Rem 700 LA, squared
Varberger threaded sleeve in front reciever ring (switch barrel functionality)
Large recoil lug
Tuned original trigger
Converted to Sako extractor, squared bolt face/ lapped lugs
Bedded into GRS Berserk stock
Schultz & Larsen .30-06 barrel, sporter profile
Varberger semi-varmint 6,5x55 barrel
Lothar walter .44 Auto Mag barrel
Short action magazine box conversion for auto mag magazine
Starting out with a Zeiss 3-12x50 in leupold standard mounts. Will probably get a 10 MOA tilt rail, with separate scopes for the different barrels after a while.

All my rifles are more or less «of the shelf», not much high- end stuff, but functional guns. For years, I have wanted to build a rifle with as few compromises as possible. This is it (I hope!).

I built my version a couple years ago. It was soo accurate I never shot it as it was boring. I sold it off and went with a Savage SA in 308 and another in 223. I am down to just the 223 now.

The rifle I had was a Savage Target action that was trued up and timed. 308win Mike Rock 5R 1-11.25 tw. 26" Kevin Rayhill Tac Stock. Rail on bottom to slide the rest to where it was needed. Adj check and butt.

Very heavy and very accurate. But BORING! I could not get anything to shoot greater than 0.5"

If I was to do it again it would be in 30BR

It is a 30" barrel Single shot Heavy barrel, falling block 30 WCF!

With that cartridge neck I could shoot anything Cast in it for the rest of my life!

I'd already have one of those Eabco rifles if they weren't so dang weird looking. (Says the guy who has like 15 AR-pattern rifles and puts scopes on his Marlin leverguns).
