This is pretty BIG!

Interesting that Vista would divest itself of one of the shooting-related companies, since they own a lot of them.

Why RCBS? Will they sell off others?

Not playing chicken-little here, just seems a curious thing. I'd think that just about any shooting-related industry would be pretty solid in terms of profits right now, and RCBS is not one of the smaller/lesser-known. RCBS is kind of a big deal in our world.

My concerns, in no particular order:
1. Will RCBS's superior customer service and warranties remain the same?
2. I see RCBS price increases in the not too distant future.
3. Better to be owned by Hodgdon, a company that caters strictly to handloaders.
4. Will Alliant powders join Hodgdon's other powders -- Hodgdon, lMR, Winchester, Ram Shot and Accurate?

I just had a nice conversation with a Lady from RCBS yesterday. I got a text from them about a shipping issue. Turns out it was a FAKE text. It was NOT them. They thanked me and took the info to pass it along to their fraud team.

This is posted on their web page:
Due to physical inventory count process, orders placed after 5/2/24 will have a 3-4 day delay in shipment.
Customers having difficulty logging in may need to create a new account due to recent website changes.

This musta happened real quick!

also looks like they may have stopped the military discount as well.

Nothing on the RCBS web site about it, there a message about web site changes.

Where did CW get this post from? Not really sure this is legit, first, I've never seen a corporate memo in all bold type.

Goggle gave me a bunch of options, this one seemed the most legit.

Maybe some of their best employees will be elated to leave CA.

It's a shame though...

California has some amazingly beautiful rural/backwoods areas and the people outside of the major cities are real folks - good people.

I was stationed there in the early to mid-eighties and was treated very well by all people I came into contact with.

There were numerous gun shops in the agricultural town I was living in and a magnificent range on public land, the RO being a State-employed park ranger. Even in the posh, upscale town I went to school in was comfortable and polite. Such a shame such a large and beautiful state, full of mostly great people suffers as it does.

No, I would not want to live there now, but man, the people I knew there were good people and treated me like a neighbor, even though I was a lowly GI.

Lot of us "good people" still here, Jeff. But, as with many other areas of the country, it isn't the same as it used to be, except the salad bowl fields. Reckon it's the inevitable change of things, though not necessarily beneficial.
