Tools for load development in a 414 supermag

Folks, as much as I love being smartly slapped around, this 210gr bullet at 2000fps in a 16" light carbine is a bit much for a fun gun.

Yet where is load data for other than screaming 8" Dan Wesson silhouette or 290 grain elk loads?

What powders will provide a slower velocity and be useable with a 240-260 gr lead bullet? I only found three loads listed for the 401 WSL, which is a close progenitor of the 414.

Would Quick Loads provide sane loads for the 414 Supermag? Straight wall case. 210-260 gr lead. Anywhere from @1000fps to 1600fps.

Other instrumentation may show up, I am addicted to "Tool Porn". MSC catalogs need a full length fold out.

Suggestions for a non-druggie hypodermic to determine H2O capacity?

eye dropper if they still make them.
anyway the old stand by of 9-10grs of unique will get you slowed down.

or do like I did in the 357 maximum and go the other direction to a 'too slow for the round' powder speed.
AA-2230 in the 357 max under a 250gr rifle boolit is quite different and still effective.
just going one or two powders past the warp drive AA-1680 speed will drop the pressure and the velocity and still give you a case full of powder.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
How about 41 mag loads using medium pistol powders that don't require compression or aren't overly position sensitive?

fivers Unique suggestion is a great idea. I'd stay clear of the hot ball powders, or rifle powders. Position sensitive powders like Bullseye should probably be passed over as well.

If you have QL just card off the water flush with the mouth and it calculates the usable volume based on the case and bullet data you feed it.
