What alloy are you using for 223

Haven't been in the shed. To damn cold. Just courious as to what would be a good mix for these little 50 gr bullets with gas checks.. hoping for a little warmer weather. Zero is just tooooo cold...thanks.. johnny

but i've been cutting it 50-50 with 1/3 alloy recently to see if i can move the scale even more.
i'm not shooting them at 1800 fps. though.

i started with straight lino-type and worked down with pure lead, the further i went the better the accuracy.
i'm mainly working with 8-9 twist AR's so none of that may apply.

I am loading them in the 1800 to 2000 area.
If that speed is good enough for 22 mag, then it's good enough for me.

I am loading to 2400fps in my AR15's. I have not tried them in my new 223 Criterion barrel for my Savage yet. I do know the Savage has a really short throat. I had to seat the 65gr MP to 2.10" to get them to chamber. The 556 and 223 wylde I can seat to 2.20" These also seated at that depth fine in my old Savage barrel. It did not have that many rounds through it. 1000 maybe at MAX.
