We are in my favorite time of year (for MN). Great weather, and the occasional T-storms. Everything is greened up. Mushrooms are popping. the polinators are out on my cherry trees, pear tree, apple trees, and gooseberry & current berry bushes. Asparagus is growing like weeds. The red raspberry bushed are leafing out.

Was able to make short runs to the grocery store and bank. Brain fog is definitely gone, but aches and stiffness persist and cause the slows. Will be seeing an ENT doc, tomorrow afternoon, for assessment of the nasal break and deviated septum.

These two episodes have made me realize that my body is really as old as its many years, and not as young as my mind thinks. Saturday morning, for the first time ever, I felt old and told my wife so. Time to slow down, be deliberate, and smell the roses.

well the stupid table got done.
the ACE had the right parts only in the wrong size.
16 bucks and a bag of orange gummy wedges later,, yeah someone little was with me.

i went back.
returned the stuff and got some lag bolts.... already had the 'right size' dowel.
with a little sanding down and some wood glue it only took some light taps to fit the plugs in place.... then a quick pre-drilled slightly under size hole and it went together in about 2 minutes.
i'm gonna [one of these days] do the other end the same as this one.
the wood on the legs is so hard it broke the threads off the inserts without so much as a scuff mark, rather than simply pull free.

Installed the mower deck on the JD lawn tractor and mowed today for the first cut of the season. Wife used her Craftsman zero turn to do the back yard. I'm glad she likes that mower as I don't. That thing rides so rough you just about need a seat belt and spurs to stay on it.

We have come to the time in our lives to relax, and let the circle of life close around us. My close family, my older brother (and not my children who are busy in life) are closer now than for most of our lives. I have close friends to visit and talk to and have laughs with. Enjoy and be content. There is nothing left to be gained by strife, hurry and worry.

Happy Birthday JonB.
Oh, to be 59 again.
I take every possible precaution to prevent falling.
My sister was 77 when she fell and broke her femur.
In her weakened health condition, they would not operate.
She did not last long after the fall.
I went for my annual visit to my ophthalmologist today.
The eyes a holding up well.
he said they are healthy and no change in the last year.

Fished yesterday, pretty successfully all in all. I kept one nice eater walleye to bake. My buddy kept 6 large white bass to fry, and a dandy catfish to smoke up. Tried a new to us launch ramp. Tricksome to back down into but saves a few miles of motoring to get to the spot we wanted to fish. When the trailer backing gets tricky I do it. We had my buddy's huge Ford 350 Transit van and it is a bit of a challenge when the ramp is so steep you cannot see the boat and trailer in the mirrors.
We are gonna hit it again next week and try specifically for catfish.

What a fiasco. Waited 45 minutes to see the nose doc. His attempt to reset it was arguably the most pain I've ever experienced. The reset was unsuccessful and he wanted to try again. Not just NO!!, but *&%$ NO!! Said he does the same thing to six year old kids, making him both a child abuser and an elder abuser.

Maybe I'm a pain wimp. Maybe I've not experienced enough pain to know that it wasn't at all excruciating. I don't know. I do know that, once the nose's swelling has gone down and whatever its contour, it's going to the crematorium with me.

Man, I just can't give that a like! Sorry to hear about your experience and that it was, besides painful, not successful.

I have a deviated septum and a doctor asked me when I broke my nose. So far as I know I never broke my nose - I think I would remember that! Mine is staying as it is. Hope you pain lessens each day!

I still remember the doc straightening me out with his little finger and some lube. That was some kind of painful.
