Bret ,
I like goats....they are tasty!.... but also I love the little critters running around.
Have been trying to convince my family we need a few for 25 years.... problem is I could not eat them if they become my friends!....And the will!

We need a groaner joke sub-forum.
He said he was going ocean fishing.

When I go bass fishing I catch bass. I assumes he was gonna catch an ocean.

As for groaner jokes, I am actually on good behavior here. You oughta see me live!

Why do we call it ice fishing? In the summer do we go water fishing?

You guys are in rare form today.

Those yellow flies/bucktails look a lot like the flies I tie to catch bonito and barracudas between Dana Point and La Jolla. I use yellow or white saddle hackles, 5-6 as the "tail" and 2 wound like a wet or dry fly hackle collars.

okay enough fishing jokes.
after the disastrous fishing vacation I just took I'm almost over even going again.

I think I got the yard back into the same shape it was the day before I left, except for the now struggling squash plants and the loss of a few bell peppers.

tomorrow I take the G-boy down to the burn unit in salt lake to get his hand looked at.
we will swing by my parents place and pickup the little race car the kids had,
[I will probably need to rebuild most of it] for him on the way home.

hopefully the parts I ordered will be here tomorrow or the next day and I can pound out the dent in the boat and re-rivet things back together, then fix the mount for the transducer and put it back on.
[hopefully the transducer still works with all the scratches in it]

Hope your grandson's burn is not serious.

Was wondering why there was not a fishing report.

Oh crap. Sound less than idyllic.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Best wishes to those facing physical issues in the family!

I was watching the skies pretty intently yesterday after deciding I wasn't going to need to ted my hay but that it couldn't possibly be ready in one day. About 6PM the skies were looking like rain before dawn for sure, despite weather reports to the contrary. I checked the hay and all but a tiny bit was marginally dry enough to bale. I hated doing it, but I put the round baler to work without any prep and got 10 nice bales made- that's 10 days of hay this winter. Got done around 8:30PM and at 9:30 we had a deluge!!! Made the right decision for once.

I am loading some 9mm today with the AC blowing, during this heat wave...BECAUSE, something came up, were I decided to load some old 9mm RN commercial cast (SNS) that have been laying around since 2009. Back then, I'd get lead fouling, but started thinking if I give them a coat of BLL over their blue wax lube, maybe they'll shoot better??? and I have different 9mm guns now, compared to 2009, so there's that, LOL.
the above was posted Jun 6 2021...

I got out to the range on Saturday and shot a box of these BLL coated SNS round nose bullets loaded with 4.4gr Unique powder.
Oiy...they were smoky!
I'm not sure if I put too much BLL on or not? They were dry to touch in an hour, loaded same day. BUT the weather at the range was HOT and Humid and fairly calm. Once the 50 rds were all shot, the pistol pit had a cloud of alox flavored smoke LOL.

PLUS SIDE...they shot great (Ruger 9e), all on the paper, no lead fouling, but the inside of the gun was greasy. The fired cases looked fine, no soot or anything.

Yeah, I had a spare key to my van but no spares of all the other keys on the keyring. Luckily I keep my house and shop keys on one keyring and my vehicle keys on the another.
