Cioppino is about the only "fish chowder" I really like.
I like that Mitty, have done a couple of those over long weekends. We usually cheated a little with some corn meal, or parched corn, or split peas. Hunt, fish, forage or get pretty hungry. No killing of protected species allowed, were our rules. Seasons and techniques may have been bent a little.I used to go on 3 day, thru two week long survival camping trips. Different parts of the country, different times of the year. Once in the Mountains of Kentucky for an entire month.
Often taking nothing but a small medicine bag with a fire starter and a knife, and a cooking pot. Plus the clothes on my back.
Over the years.
Family, change of careers, and my health have slowly taken my ability to do that away. Now I am down to doing half days excursions.
