Worked OT last night in shipping. Banding and wrapping.
Had to get the money for my insulin refills and needles.
Next week.
Man it wiped me out. Don't feel like doing crap today. Just feel like totally wore down.
I'm ahead on the insulin , but trying to stay ahead.
So I can skip a couple months this winter and be able to pay the heating bill. With my income now having 25% going to insurance.
Adulting is just no fun sometimes.

anyone need any red tater starts?
i'm not even bothering to cut them at this point, just make a hole and drop the whole thing in,, all 4-5 eyes and everything.
i still have the bottom of a 2'X2' box covered with them.
yep too early, but the dirt ain't froze and i'm tired of looking at them.

ordered 10 yds. of dirt today to be delivered tomorrow.
my hands are killing me after trimming trees and rolling chicken poop in, but i need it, and if i don't get it now i might as well forget it for the year..

Well got up and shook myself off. Took a shower. Then forced myself to get up and go.
So even though I was spent today. I still managed a trip to the range today. To test a load for the High Point 10mm.
Then stopped by the hardware store and bought a toilet seat. The Original one finally cracked about a month ago. I put a cheap seat on it and it lasted 3 weeks. So went ahead and got a crane wood seat. Hopefully I am done within that for a while.

Past few days I have been potting up my 6 pack seedlings into 3 inch pots in real potting soil. I do not think this years are as healthy and in the past by this date and I blame the LED lighting ( But I dug my hole and saved electricity!) Weather outside was very cooperating the past 2 days Highs in the 70's and Sunshine ad so is the next 2 so I started introducing these potted up seedlings to the outside to give them a better life. Got them on the north side of my house out of direct sun for starters. Lows are in the mid 40's to mid 50's but I still put them in my jeep for the night timeime. It is a Black Patriot so it heats up pretty good all day and gives up it's heat at night and is my perfect night time cold frame!
I only have a dozen & a half left to transplant into pots but I have to get more potting soil!

Trip to the post office, booze store, WallyMart and a local appliance store to shop for a new clothes dryer. Drag the trash out to the road for collection tomorrow.
I thought retirement was supposed to be fun.
It is fun! You get to choose what you are going to do today. Could have blown off all that other stuff and gone fishing. Would you have missed any meals? Would the house fall down? Life is good!

So, you think working was having fun? ;)
I have to say; I loved pretty much every day of my job as Commercial Photographer for 50 years. Everyday was a new challenge and the, constant creativity it provided! However I most times hated the traveling. Rather be in my studio.
Yeah, I think I really hate being retired and getting old! That is not as enjoyable.

Had a day off that I had some silly fantasies about 2 Dr appointments after 4 and dropping off the kids at school a quick pass through the courthouse and about 6 hours of not doing anything essential .......... Pfft whatever....... Ran from 6:45 when I opened the bathroom door until about 45 minutes ago.

We did get a marriage license, so I guess after 12yr I'm going to have to let her set the hook and reel me in .

The State seems to have the idea that a piece of paper improves child rearing skills for adoption. I said well after we adopt the one that is a direct blood relation w/o all of this stuff the other 2 not direct blood but half siblings would in fact be blood related to us then . I doubt I can sell that but it's worth a pitch .

Couple of kids entering a marriage of convenience for the good of the kids at the tender age of 57 .........

JW i agree the LED lights seem to hold growth down compared to the others.
but don't give up on them yet,,, give it till the harvest.
i think the plants don't grow as fast, but they are healthier [darker green] and don't struggle to the lighting.... plus the blue light helps with the root growth better than the flouro's.

one other thing i've noticed with the LED's is the plants will 'move' more.
the leaves close up at night and open again when the lights hit them in the morning.
i've taken to rotating everything around about every 8-10 days under the LED's, and moving them up to my higher light and back down to the closer one.

Yup, working days were fun except for travelling. 45 yrs of everyday challenge, 12 yrs trying to prevent boredom. Then there is her chores list.

You're a good man, Charlie Brown. I'm not gonna gripe about my 4 and 6 year olds wearing me out at 49. They came into a ten year marriage full blood and were PLANNED. At least hopefully you'll have teenagers at home when you're 70-something and they can help out with stuff.

Ric, you are right, I do get to choose what gets done on what day. I will say that I did very much enjoy about 12-15 years of my working life because I was good at what I did, people trusted me and brought weight to bear on those who would cause me grief.

Work's last 15 years were pretty stressful, especially the last 10 with me being the only earner.

Hmmm . . . never reflected on it till just now, but every employer I ever worked for, except Denny's (high school) and the Air Force, no longer exist.

Pondering worklife:
I worked several 'gig' jobs and part time jobs as a kid, all the way through trade school. When I got my first full time job, I still lived with the folks for a year and a half. Let me just say, I liked work a lot more when I lived with my parents, then when I owned a home.

Probably never going to retire.
Ill probably quit working when they walk in the office and they find me slumped in the corner. That's Ok, retirement was never a thing for most people till the last hundred years. And it's going on its way out rapidly.
Besides I don't mind working. Gives me a change of pace and a regular schedule.

Any how..... got out to the range this morning. Got a load development finalized. Now I am home taking a nap. My last day off. Then going to figure out how to sign up for the insurance web sights. Figure out some stuff for my meds. And a naunt to the library later to volunteer with the kids craft hour. And sort some media.
