And mil-surp ball powders from GI Brass at $2.50/# too. $20 for an 8# jug of 50 BMG fuel.I miss the days of cases of 30M1 surplus ammo for $15-20 dollars.
All of the 30-32 caliber small-case cartridges suffer from an identity crisis. The 30 Carbine and 32/20 HV really aren't enough cartridge to hunt deer with, though I am sure both have taken (and crippled) their share of deer over the years. The 32/20 leverguns I have owned are jackrabbit- and coyote-capable to 150 yards, as was the Marlin Model 62 in 30 Carbine; the Rock-Ola barely held 5" at 100 yards with FMJ bullets, and couldn't manage 3" with the Sierra SPs. It did not join me for hunting, and wasn't around very long. I hope the 327 Federal doesn't wind up exiled to The Land Of Enthusiast Calibers like the 10mm and 41 Magnum.
