"Ring Of Fire" describes an appellation given by an L.A. "Times" and PBS reporters to a groups of gunmakers located in inland southern California that specialized in making inexpensive pocket pistols--usually in 22 rimfire or 25 ACP calibers--that often found their way onto crime scenes in which assaults, robberies, and homicides (both justified and not so much) took place. The pistol makes primarily involved were Lorcin, Bryco, and Raven. Some other makers got unfairly painted with the broad brush being wielded by the newsiies, and AMT was one such company. AMT arms could have varying quality, but most that I have seen were of far better construction than any example of the pot-metal wonders produced by the 3 makers I mentioned. There are a number of perspectives from which to view this mess, and getting into those subjects is beyond the scope of this site. If someone wants "on the ground" details from those times, hit me up via PM.
