Some wanted to take unlubed cast bullets and coat them with Ben's Liquid Lube and fire them at 2400 fps.
Honestly, I never imagined or dreamed that BLL would be subjected to that kind of " torture test ". That was never my dream for the liquid lube.
I shoot 98% of my cast rifle loads in the 1,100 fps - 1,850 fps speed zone with plain base in the 1,100 - 1,350 fps zone and the higher speeds with gas checked cast bullets.
Ben's Red in conjunction with BLL works wonders in this speed zone with accuracy and ease of cleaning your barrels when you come home from the range. It isn't uncommon for me to take 30-06 and 308 Win. rifle barrels that have had 100 + rounds of cast loads in the 1,600 fps speed range fired through them , push 2 dry patches through the barrel, and put them in my safe. I've never had a problem with rust or corrosion of any kind with the lube in my rifles. I've always felt that the lube had been spun at high rpm into the pores of the metal in the barrels. All I needed to do was clean out any excess lube and carbon that was in the bore before I put the rifles in the safe.
I see Ben's Liquid Lube as a quick and super simple liquid lube to make ( without heat or danger of fire ). It works wonders in handguns in the 700 - 1,200 fps. speed range. It also works very well as an " over - coat " over other lubes with rifle cast bullets. In this arena, the nose of many of my " nose riders " gets some needed lubrication also.
