sounds like a Frack crew the pumps are the give-away.
CUDD is primarily involved with pressure control, flow-back, and monitoring.
but they do try to get involved with other aspects of the oil field here and there.
7-8 would have been a pretty small crew, maybe an acid pumping crew.

many of the jobs I was on would run 12-14 pumps.
sometimes only 4-6 pumps, but we would still have a blending unit, a gelling unit, a missile, an iron truck, a crane, some chemical trucks, and a box van or two.

a de-fit or simple volumetric pump in would entail 2 pumps, some iron, and an operations van, plus one of the blending units or a boost pump [and maybe some chemicals or a radioactive trace] depending on the specific pump in.

All right you thread jockeys, six pages of some truly top-shelf multi-topic drifting and aside from the girl at Walmart not a single mention of classy wimmenz? You guys must be getting old. :D:D

Gotta be some money in whatever they are doing. Never saw an entire semi trailer work truck painted
in burgundy metalflake - ever. Sorta like an sand truck in Fla, open top, smooth inside of the body where the load would be,
6" tall ribs on 18" centers on outside of trailer, but ALL shiny show car metalflake burgundy. Pretty flashy.
I've seen plenty of flashy tractors, but never a trailer like this.

God bless all those folks out there in the oil fields kicking the heck out of the Saudis and Venezuelans
and Iranians and holding Putin's cashflow down, too - WHILE making a lot of jobs here, and keeping
our energy costs down.

Proud of you guys, all of you. Good ol' American can-do butt kicking. Very cool.

Ian, old age and long time married. Still like to look, tho.

it easily could have been a sand mover.
the main component of fracking is sand.
everything else on location is there to do nothing more than pump sand down the hole and prop open the formation.
everything else gets sucked back out during the flow back operations, and any subsequent pumping,
the water is generally cleaned and recycled to be used again.

I knew that sand was the key ingredient, but somehow didn't sink in. It reminded me of the
sand trucks I see in central Florida...now that you say it, probably was the sand truck.

Yes, sand on the outside, only.

Fivers avatar is classy enough for me. Ian must be getting picky.

woo-hoo got the windshield ordered today.
it should be here Thursday.
I think i'll go down and visit tomorrow now that the truck is out of the shop.
the Mechanic stayed late last night and got it done for me.
of course I had to look at some Camaro pictures for 1/2 hr in return.

one of the guy's in town just bought a Dodge Demon and stopped by the shop so of course we had to go for a ride...
WOW!
fast and smooth, no cornering ability whatsoever, but WOW!

REALLY! 800 hp. That is really crazy. Surprised at the 'no cornering', they were
supposed to have improved that as part of the package.
Amazing amount of HP.

If it does have that kind of HP by the time you got to the corner the rear tires would be gone anyway. Maybe that's why there is no cornering ability. :)

well I am comparing Bob's 4500 car to my 2800 lb car with upgrades.
their motors make tons of power but they are heavy, maybe not International Harvester heavy, but still.
they just have a ton of weight on the front tires and it feels to me like your in a pickup truck in the turns.
they are dang nice looking though.

800 hp....yikes.

Anymore I prefer 6000 lb + 4x4's....with a big block. Guess that hasn't changed much.

Winning races is a matter of perspective.

Way back as a crazy teen they'd always claim this car or that car was fastest/best but, they never showed for races. See, they could pick the time OR place. I got to pick the other.

They would pick a popular street to race on & I'd pick the first 6+" snowfall or ice storm. They'd pick tomorrow & I'd pick a nice creek to race through. I never could figure why they wouldn't show up.

Here's a tiny tidbit .
I had a 78' IHC V8 345 (I suspect it was overhauled to the 392) cast iron "tank transmission" Dana 44s .
2800# on the front end
2080 on the rear end via trade certified scale .

1999 Explorer
4.0 SOHC V6 E55??? trans all wheel/4 hi/lo
Alloy wheels XLT power doors windows etc
2780 # on the front end
2040 on the rear
I suspect that if the Scout had alloy wheels and the Explorer 31-10.50-15 LT BFG ATs instead of steel and P235-75-15s the weights would have been even closer .

Can you imagine a new Challenger with all the digital stuff hooked to a twin turbo aluminum 426 Hemi ?

went down and picked it up today.
they had to paint the fender twice because the paint matched inside but not outside.
you can't tell the difference now, I originally thought they just went and pulled the fender off another car.

I ended up getting the windshield at cost [and no labor charge] 200$ installed for 5 lbs of 50-50 and 4 lbs of block Tin I had kicking around.
now I just need to get the tint strip replaced across the top of the windshield and I'm back in business.

I also 'sold' a full stainless exhaust system for magna flow while I was there.

Pix, please.
A really new Mustang passed me on the interstate this PM, maybe 3-5 mph faster than I was
running. A minute or so later, a hundred yards ahead, he punched it and really scooted. I'd
guess he was making over 120 when I last saw him. Yahoo! Watch out for cops.

There are some seriously fast cars out there these days. Like my friend's Miata with a 430 Corvette
motor, Camaro 6 speed and Caddy CTS IRS and limited slip rear end. THAT was a really quick
car, and they did it really right, too, but not cheap.
